(KGTV) - The driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash in Encinitas that left a mother with severe injuries was sentenced Monday to one year in jail.Justin Parker hit Ashley Lane on Encinitas Blvd. in September 2017. She suffered multiple broken bones, strokes, and partial paralysis.Parker turned himself in two weeks after the hit and run, as investigators were closing in on tips from the community. Investigators say Parker had been drinking prior to the incident.Investigators said Parker drove his truck to a repair shop in Riverside county to repair the damage. Lane made a victim impact statement in Vista court Monday, calling Parker 'selfish' and 'cowardly'."The only reason you turned yourself in was because of the tips from the community of Encinitas and the hard work from my father. Walmart has announced which of its stores will be hosting free drive-in movies as part of a nationwide tour later this summer.Earlier this year, Walmart announced that it would transform the parking lots of 160 of its stores around the country into contact-free drive-in movie theaters.On Wednesday, the retail giant announced more details about the showings, including the dates, times and locations of the showings.In a press release, Walmart announced each location would be showing one of nine movies: "Wonder Woman," "Spy Kids," "Space Jam," "Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse," "Ghostbusters," "The Wizard of Oz," "Black Panther," "E.T." or "Friday Night Lights." Movie choices will vary by location.Tickets to the screenings are free, but must be reserved in advance to ensure parking lots aren't overcrowded. Tickets are given out per car, and cover "as many people as you have seatbelts in your car."Tickets will be available by clicking here beginning at 5 p.m. ET on Wednesday.For all showings, gates will open at 6 p.m. local time, and the films will begin at 7:30 p.m.To ensure proper social distancing, guests will be required to remain in their cars during the showings. WASHINGTON — The government’s cybersecurity agency is expressing increased alarm about a hack of computer systems in the U.S. and around the globe that officials suspect was carried out by Russia.The cybersecurity unit of the Department of Homeland Security says the hack “poses a grave risk” to the U.S. government and state and local governments as well as critical infrastructure and private business.The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency announced the SolarWinds Orion vulnerability that was disclosed this week as the compromised piece of software, was not the only way that hackers were able to get into government agencies, private companies and critical infrastructures over the last several months."CISA has determined that this threat poses a grave risk to the Federal Government and state, local, tribal, and territorial governments as well as critical infrastructure entities and other private sector organizations," the alert issued by the agency said. "CISA expects that removing this threat actor from compromised environments will be highly complex and challenging for organizations."The U.S. Energy Department is the latest government unit to announce they had systems compromised in the hack.The department says the impact of the hack appears to be “isolated to business networks” and "has not impacted the mission essential national security functions of the Department, including the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA)," which manages the country’s stockpile of nuclear weapons.It’s not just government agencies, Microsoft is reporting in a blog post more than 40 customers around the world appear to have been targeted in the hack.The hack creates a fresh foreign policy problem for President Donald Trump in his final days in office.President Trump has not made public comments regarding the hack, or the government’s response to Russia or whoever may be responsible. WASHINGTON — An Associated Press investigation has identified at least six sexual misconduct allegations involving senior FBI officials over the past five years, including two new claims brought this week by women who say they were sexually assaulted by ranking agents.The AP found several of the accused FBI officials were quietly transferred or retired, keeping their full pensions even when probes substantiated the sexual misconduct claims.Beyond that, federal law enforcement officials are afforded anonymity even after the disciplinary process runs its course, allowing them to land on their feet in the private sector or even remain in law enforcement.According to the AP's report, one FBI assistant director retired after he was accused of groping a female subordinate in a stairwell.
