Authorities say a U.S. Navy training plane traveling from Florida has crashed in an Alabama residential neighborhood near the Gulf Coast, killing both people in the plane. Navy spokesman Zach Harrell says both people in the T-6B Texan II training plane died Friday. No injuries were reported on the ground. Foley Fire Chief Joey Darby told news outlets that responders encountered and extinguished a “large volume of fire” that had engulfed a home and cars. (KGTV) — A man accused of boarding a Greyhound bus in San Diego before opening fire and killing one person in the Los Angeles area pleaded not guilty in court.Anthony Devonte Williams, 33, of Capital Heights, Md., pleaded not guilty to one count of first-degree murder and five counts of attempted murder.Williams is accused of opening fire on a bus as it was traveling on Interstate 5 between Los Angeles and Bakersfield on Feb. 3. He reportedly first boarded a bus from San Diego to Los Angeles before boarding another bus in Los Angeles heading to San Francisco.Passengers say Williams was cursing and muttering incoherently before opening fire.The shooting killed 51-year-old Lurbis Elena Vence, of Molino, Colombia, according to KERO., and injured five other people.Other passengers were able to disarm Williams and forced him off the bus. 872

ATLANTA (AP) — The former Atlanta police officer who fatally shot Rayshard Brooks is set to appear in court Tuesday to ask a judge to release him from jail while his case is pending. Garrett Rolfe faces charges including felony murder in the killing. Rolfe fatally shot Brooks in the back when Brooks fired a Taser in his direction while running away after a struggle on June 12. Rolfe is white. Brooks was Black. Rolfe's bond hearing is set for Tuesday afternoon. Felony murder convictions are punishable by a minimum sentence of life in prison. 554
