(KGTV) — An inmate who escaped from San Quentin State Prison in Northern California the day after Christmas was apprehended Saturday about 200 miles away.Shalom Mendoza, 21, was reported missing just after 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 26 after he had been working outside of the prison perimeter with other inmates, according to the state Corrections and Rehabilitation Department (CDCR).Investigators began searching the surrounding area and say he appeared to have carjacked a Toyota Rav4 from a Home Depot parking lot in the San Rafael area.RELATED: San Quentin State Prison inmate escapes, suspected in carjackingThe Toyota was later found abandoned off the 101 Freeway north of Paso Robles on Friday. That led CDCR officials closer to Mendoza.A civilian saw Mendoza at a Taco Bell location in Paso Robles and called authorities, who placed him in custody without incident at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday.Mendoza now faces escape and carjacking charges. He was serving a five-year sentence for use of a deadly weapon during a carjacking/attempted carjacking and evading or attempting to evade a peace officer while driving recklessly. 1132

(KGTV) -- DoorDash announced Thursday that the information of 4.9 million users was affected by a data breach. The company said in a blog post that 4.9 million consumers, Dashers and merchants who joined before April 5, 2018 were affected. According to DoorDash, profile information including names, email addresses, delivery addresses, order history, phone numbers and hashed, salted passwords were accessed during the breach. The company says the last four digits of payment cards and bank accounts were also compromised for some consumers, delivery workers and merchants, but full credit card and banking information was not accessed. For 100,000 Dashers, driver’s license numbers were also accessed, the company said. DoorDash says it’s in the process of notifying those affected. (KGTV) - An earthquake struck northern Mexico’s Baja California peninsula Monday, causing tremors felt in San Diego County.The 4.8 quake was located near Alberto Oviedo Mota at 12:18 p.m.The initial quake was followed by a 3.3 aftershock in the same area seven minutes later.Alberto Oviedo Mota is roughly 160 miles from San Diego. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the shaking in San Diego County was in the II-III or IV categories, meaning weak to light. The strongest shaking reported in the U.S. was in El Centro, which was considered moderate.There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries. 626
