LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Ohio nonprofit LakewoodAlive has apologized after a man dressed in a blackface Tiger Woods costume marched in the organization’s Spooky Pooch Parade. People on social media have called the costume racist, disgusting and offensive.In a video posted to Facebook by LakewoodAlive that has since been removed, the unidentified man was seen wearing blackface makeup while dressed in Woods’ trademark red polo shirt and Nike hat. He was seen holding a frame with the words “Breaking News – Tiger’s Back,” and pushing a pet stroller outfitted with a mock putting green.By Monday morning, several users responded on the nonprofit's Facebook page condemning the man’s costume as well as the organization for allowing him to march in the parade.“You need to respond to the fact that a man in blackface marched in your parade,” Clara Masters said in a Facebook comment. “This is not okay and incredibly offensive.”“This racist costume should never have been allowed in the event,” wrote Alison Meredith. “The participant should have been stopped at registration, and when that failed should have been pulled from the parade at whatever point an organizer saw it, even at the risk of 'causing a scene'. LA JOLLA, Calif. (KGTV) -- Many beach parking lots remain closed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Members of the Surfrider Foundation of San Diego say someone is making it even harder to find public street parking by illegally painting curbs red.Surfers who frequent La Jolla Shores noticed something was a little off."Me and my friend came here the other day… and we're like, 'What? What the heck?'" surfer, Maddie Sadlier laughed.They say the public parking on Camino Del Collado, a small street that runs parallel to La Jolla Shores Drive suddenly vanished."It's been like this for a really long time, up until recently, it just turned red," surfer Zach Rudy said.It turns out, the red curb on Camino Del Collado is fake and illegal."It's really a problem that somebody took it upon themselves to take away public parking right next to the beach," Kristin Brinner, a volunteer with the Surfrider Foundation San Diego, said.Some parts of the curb are only painted red on top, and there are several splotches of red on the road - clear signs that it was not a professionally painted curb. Brinner says this is the second summer in a row that this small street curb has been illegally painted."I do hope that people realize that this is more than just a simple bucket of paint," Brinner said. "It's vandalism, and it's preventing people from accessing the beach that belong to all of us. For someone to do this and say that 'No you can't access the beach near me,' is a really pretty hateful act, in my opinion."According to San Diego Police, painting a curb red is a misdemeanor crime of vandalism. If caught, a person can be cited or arrested.The Surfrider Foundation does not know who keeps doing this. But they say every summer, as the beach crowds increase, so does the problem."It does seem like it was somebody in this neighborhood that just was maybe sick of outsiders coming in, wanted to claim it as their own street," Rudy said.San Diego Parking Enforcement is aware of the vandalism on Camino Del Collado and is already in the process of getting it repainted. But Brinner says the best way to fix the problem quickly is to be aware."They should document their parking spots they often use, and then they will have proof so they can say 'Hey, this used to be here, and now it's not!' Lawmakers emerged from a classified administration briefing expressing concern about administration policy on Syria and the legal justification for last week's military strikes against the regime of Bashar al-Assad."I am very unnerved by what I'm hearing and seeing," said Sen. Lindsay Graham, a South Carolina Republican, who said the briefing on the strikes made him more worried, not less. The administration is "going down a dangerous path" with regards to Syria, he said, without offering details.Washington, along with London and Paris, launched airstrikes in the wee hours of Syria's Saturday morning in response for an April 7 attack on the rebel stronghold of Douma that killed about 75 people, including children, and left another 500 in need of treatment for symptoms consistent with chemical weapons exposure.The strike came just 10 days after President Donald Trump had said he wanted to get out of Syria, raising confusion about administration policy."I want to get out," Trump said during an April 3 news conference. "I want to bring our troops back home. It's time."But on April 13, when he announced the strikes, Trump said the US would be undertaking a sustained diplomatic, military and economic response to stop the use of chemical weapons, and officials said the US would remain focused on defeating ISIS.Senators leaving Tuesday's briefing seemed to indicate that Trump's isolationist impulses are going to win out, regardless of the consequences for US global influence, American national security interests or the fate of the region, where Iran is vying for larger influence and Russia has established itself as a power broker, edging out the US.Democratic Sen. People can select the products online that they want to buy to donate. And then, the food pantry places an order once they have enough.Many local food drives are planning virtual events for the holidays, which is a critical time.A lot of what is raised now helps support them through the year.More Americans need help now than ever. Some 35 million people were facing hunger pre-COVID-19.
