BEIJING, July 9 (Xinhua) -- China and the United States are likely to conclude the first phase of Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) talks soon and start substantive negotiations on the negative list, a Chinese assistant commerce minister said on Wednesday.
They also expressed readiness to continue to explore new areas of bilateral oil and gas cooperation with Chinese partners.
Following the reception, Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang and Najib addressed a trade forum, urging to further expand bilateral trade cooperation.
Both sides welcome a greater role of RMB in international trade and investment and the establishment of an RMB clearing bank in London.
As for bilateral disagreements on maritime issues, Hua said the two sides have maintained close communication and China has repeatedly explained its principle and stance.
