Rick Snyder, a Republican, blasted President Donald Trump in an op-ed for the Detroit Free Press published Thursday morning and said he will be voting for Democrat Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election.In his writing, Snyder explains that he has remained a lifelong Republican and will still support Republican candidates, but will not support the president."President Trump lacks a moral compass. (AP) — An elementary school superintendent in Central California says he allowed a janitor to wear a mask and carry a fake gun during an active shooter drill to "make sure this was realistic."A teacher told KSEE-TV that the drill, which happened at Raisin City Elementary School before the summer break, went too far.Kim Copper said the masked gunman pounded on her classroom door and tried to open it as she huddled in a corner with terrified students.School Superintendent Juan Sandoval admitted teachers and students were not told about the janitor's role. FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Caleb Lowman says he was forced to use his shotgun on his neighbor's three dogs when they escaped their cage and began attacking his goats. “When I came out, I had the shotgun with me with the hopes it wouldn’t have to be used,” Lowman said. Lowman says this isn't the first time the dogs have gotten out and been aggressive. On last Monday, the dogs got out of their fence and attacked the goats in his yard. Photos show the goats suffered bite marks up and down their neck and legs.However, one of the dogs' owners, Jake Hutto, claims his pets have never been aggressive. “I don’t understand how it’s possible to shoot three dogs in the head, to blow their face off," Hutto said.Lowman's family called Animal Control after last week's incident and says they safely returned all three dogs to the neighbors. Five days later, Lowman says it happened again — this time in front of his 13-year-old daughter, Chloe. “I had to go outside and watch basically my babies be attacked by dogs," said Chloe. Lowman says despite his family's efforts, the dogs killed two of the goats. That's when he pulled out his shotgun and killed all three dogs. Hutto came home to find that Animal Control had left his pets in three large trash bags.“There’s nothing more you can do, nothing’s going to bring them back,” Hutto said. Records show several citations had been issued from Animal Control to the dog owners' household. But with two goats and three dogs now gone, Lowman says this isn't what he wanted. "This time it was our goats, Monday it was our goats; if we let that happen again that could have been my children," he said. "It didn’t need to be this way if they just secured their dogs."A spokesperson for Animal Control says this is an active investigation. Lowman claims when he put in his final statement today at Animal Control, he was told two citations would be issued against the dog owners. He says the citations are for dogs menacing and harassing livestock and running at large.  2160

FLAGSTAFF — Steven Jones has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and three counts of aggravated assault in a 2015 deadly shooting in Flagstaff.As part of the agreement, Jones will be sentenced to between 5 and ten years in prison. He must serve at least 85 percent of the time.Steven Jones, a Northern Arizona University student at the time, opened fire on the group of people in 2015 after he says he was attacked over a small prank between two rival fraternities.The fight started after Jones and two pledges from his fraternity carried out a prank by ringing the doorbell of an apartment and running away. The prosecutors, however, said that Jones could have left the area and did not need to resort to using a weapon.Jones had said he went back toward the group and fired his gun, but he didn't mean to hurt anyone. He testified he fired several shots "to stop the immediate threat that was coming at me."The case originally went to a jury but was declared a mistrial in 2017 because a unanimous verdict couldn’t be released.Family of the victims in the shooting have reportedly agreed to the plea deal as well.
