A Monroe County woman is facing second-degree murder charges after police say she decapitated her seven-year old son in her Sweden, New York home Thursday night.According to 13 WHAM in Rochester, court documents show Hanane Mouhib, 36, used "a large-bladed kitchen knife to intentionally stab [the boy] in the upper-left area of the back." The victim, Abraham Cardenas, was a first-grade student at Barclay Elementary School in the Brockport School District. Monroe County Sheriff Todd Baxter said several other people, including children, were in the home at the time of the attack. Mouhib graduated from nursing school at the College at Brockport in May 2011.Officials at Rochester Regional Health System told 13 WHAM Mouhib worked as a nurse practitioner at Genesee Mental Health from January 2016 through January 2017.The town of Sweden sits on the western edge of Monroe County, and is bordered on the west by Orleans County and on the south by Genesee County.  1019

A terrifying email scam using stolen passwords and sextortion is trying to scare many out of their money.There are variations of the blackmail threat, but in most cases, a password that someone once used or is still using appears in the subject line of the email.The hackers claim to have "evidence of your secret" after installing malware on adult video sites.The email explains web cameras were hacked and recordings were made of the person watching the pornography.The hackers then demand anywhere from ,000 to ,600 in bitcoin or the video will be released to all contacts, including family members and co-workers."It's a non-negotiable offer, thus please do not ruin my personal time and yours," one hacker wrote. "The clock is ticking.""It's really electronic blackmail," cybersecurity expert Tim Dimoff said. "This is a very well-structured blackmail. Boy, it looks believable."However, it's all a nasty scam. There are no videos and the hackers may have one of your passwords, but they don't have all of your information."If you look in the body of the email, they're not using your name. They're not saying what specific website you might be going to and they don't have a screenshot of you," said Christy Page, the president and CEO of the Better Business Bureau in Akron.Page said more than 130 complaints have reported nationwide through BBB's scam tracker.It's not clear how many of those people gave up the ransom, but it's estimated 0,000 has been paid this year by people frightened by the threat."The fear of embarrassment can be very powerful to get you to part with your money," Page said.Dimoff and Page said the hackers likely used the dark web to buy passwords that were stolen during data breaches and the hackers can be very difficult to track.Page said anyone who receives the email should not pay any money or respond to it.  However, passwords should be changed immediately.In addition, Page said people should consider using a password manager and a web camera cover for extra peace of mind. A superintendent in Wisconsin is investigating what he calls a "reprehensible" video showing two students appearing to mock the death of George Floyd. The video has sparked demands for action, and criticism that the Mequon-Thiensville School District needs to do more racism prevention and education. The district is about 30 minutes north of Milwaukee. The video in question shows a high school junior giving two thumbs up, while kneeling on another young man’s neck, who says “I can’t breathe,” while laughing. A third student recorded the video. 556

A United States Customs and Border Protection officer is accused of falsely claiming to be a US citizen when he applied for the job, the Department of Justice said. According to DOJ officials, Marco Antonio De La Garza Jr., 37, of Hereford, Ariz. was charged with three counts of passport fraud and false statements on his federal law enforcement background application. The DOJ is claiming that De La Garza knowingly used a fraudulently obtained Texas birth certificate to apply for a United States passport. De La Garza is also accused of using the same birth certificate to claim US citizenship during his background check.It is unknown how US officials were unable to figure out that De La Garza's paperwork was fraudulent.  The charges stemmed from an investigation conducted by  the Department of State-Diplomatic Security Service and the Department of Homeland Security-Office of Inspector General. The DOJ claims that De La Garza was actually born in Mexico. The Associated Press confirmed that he was hired by border patrol in 2012.   1116

A suspect who had barricaded himself on Tuesday in his Panama City, Florida, home after an earlier shooting was later found dead in the residence, authorities said.The Bay County Sheriff's Office identified the dead suspect as 49-year-old Kevin Robert Holroyd.One person had a minor injury and was transported to a hospital, city spokeswoman Caitlin Lawrence said earlier Tuesday.The hunt for Holroyd, who was wanted in connection with a homicide in Santa Rosa Beach in Walton County, ended with his death about 57 miles southeast in Bay County, after he opened fire on police, the Bay County Sheriff's Office said.Authorities did not say how Holroyd died.The Bay County Sheriff's Office and Panama City police began searching for Holroyd in case he returned to Bay County. Investigators started watching Holroyd's townhome apartment after his vehicle was seen there. During that time, a complex resident called the fire department to report a gas smell, the sheriff's office said.The investigators got out of their cars to find out why firefighters had arrived in the complex parking lot, authorities said.From an upstairs window of the apartment, Holroyd opened fire on the firefighters and investigators, and other responding officers, including Panama City police, the sheriff's office said.About 100 rounds were fired during the gunbattle, the sheriff's office said.At one point, two Panama City officers and a sheriff's deputy were pinned down behind their vehicles by the gunfire, the sheriff's office said.Photos from Eryn Dion of the Panama City News Herald showed a heavy police presence in the area during the standoff.Stacie Houchins said she did not see the incident start, but she decided to go to the scene to see what was going on. She shared photos with CNN of police with weapons drawn.When she arrived on the scene, she said she heard multiple loud gunshots. She said the gunshots seemed like rapid fire.SWAT officers eventually entered the townhome through an upstairs window, and officers found Holroyd's body clad in body armor. The inside of the home had been saturated with gasoline, authorities said.Authorities found several hundred rounds of ammunition, several high-powered rifles and flares, the sheriff's office said.
