SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — One person was killed and another person was in critical condition following a shooting in Shelltown early Saturday.The shooting was reported at about 1:30 a.m. near Epsilon St. and 42nd St., according to San Diego Police. Two men were standing outside when the shooting occurred, but it's unclear what led up to the gunshots.One man in his 50s died and another man in his 60s suffered non-life threatening injuries.Police were not able to immediately give a suspect description, but were interviewing neighbors Saturday morning. 556

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Point Loma High School students welcomed gender-neutral homecoming royalty this week, eliminating the traditional roles of king and queen.At Friday night’s homecoming game, two senior boys were selected as kings. Most students at Point Loma High School said they support the change.Associated Student Body president Ila Komasa told 10News previous homecoming kings and queens were couples. This year, she wanted to make it more individualized. “We didn’t believe the couple aspect applied to what homecoming court meant to us and what it should represent for the students," Komasa said.Komasa was hopeful students would be given the opportunity to vote for anyone they wanted.“We made the decision to individually elect and nominate two students from each grade level as homecoming court and then for seniors, homecoming royalty.” It’s an effort to make homecoming more inclusive, no longer focusing on one’s high school relationship status, rather the impact made on peers. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- More than 24,000 people were left without power due to an unplanned outage in San Diego Tuesday afternoon. The power outage was reported around noon and affected 24,067 people throughout San Diego. As of 7 p.m., the San Diego Gas and Electric outage map showed 3,352 customers without power. Neighborhoods affected include: City Heights, Chollas Creek, Oak Park, Kensington, Talmadge, W State College, Rolando, E State College and La Mesa. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating after a teenager was shot in San Diego’s Linda Vista neighborhood Thursday afternoon. According to police, a 17-year-old boy was walking with a 16-year-old girl near the 6900 block of Linda Vista Road around 12:30 p.m. Police say a silver sedan pulled up beside the pair and someone inside shot the 17-year-old in the stomach. The teen suffered minor injuries, according to police, who said he was uncooperative.Police say, during the shooting, the teens ducked behind a car in the area. The vehicle was heavily damaged. San Diego Police say officers searched a neighborhood near Tecolote Canyon for the suspect. Witnesses stated they saw five men driving away in a gray or light colored vehicle. 750

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police are investigating a possible road rage incident that ended with a car crashing into a tree in Scripps Ranch.According to San Diego police, the crash happened just after 11 p.m. Monday on Scripps Ranch Boulevard and Spring Canyon Road.Police said a couple in a silver SUV called 911 and claimed a black car intentionally backed into them, causing the black car to lose control before crashing into a tree.However, the driver of the black car said he accidentally cut off the SUV, so they then hit him from the back and forced him to crash.The incident remains under investigation, as police try to sort out the full details of the episode.No injuries were reported. 699
