BEIJING, May 6 (Xinhua) -- China on Wednesday hailed the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties with the European Union (EU), saying the commemorative activities will support win-win cooperation and upgrading of relations.
The president said that the two sides should seek cooperation in production capacity, equipment manufacturing and agriculture, enhance financial cooperation and expand tourism cooperation.
In addition, a total of 2,000 Asian and African young men and women will be invited to visit China and attend a series of youth get-togethers, said the president.
In the present context of international relations, cooperation between Asian and African countries remains critical and has become more important than ever, said Egyptian Ambassador to China Magdy Amer.
