They make you do it over and over and over, repetition, repetition, repetition, so you remember it, Auto Instructor at Capistrano Valley HS Nicholas Perkins said. The teachers formed two lines and entered the bus to take them to MCRD.The group of teachers who sat in the back were immediately yelled at, "all of you will stand up, did I say move yet?," Baumann said. They responded, "No sir!"Baumann commanded them to move to the front of the bus and started counting down from 30, "did I say sit down? I must've said sit down, right?" "No sir!" 554

They thought other buses would be waiting for them to take them through hurricane-ravaged Nayarit to the neighboring state of Sinaloa, further north. But no other buses showed up and few trucks passed to pick them up, leaving many to walk. Most appeared intent on taking the Pacific coast route northward to the border city of Tijuana, which was still about 1,350 miles (2,200 kilometers) away. The migrants have come about 1,500 miles (2,400 kilometers) since they started out in Honduras around Oct. 13.While they previously suffered from the heat on their journey through Honduras, Guatemala and southern Mexico, they now trek along highways wrapped in blankets to fend off the morning chill. While the caravan previously averaged only about 30 miles (50 kilometers) a day, the migrants are now covering daily distances of 185 miles (300 kilometers) or more, partly because they are relying on hitchhiking rather than walking.Migrants have hopped aboard different kinds of trucks, regardless of comfort or safety. Some have stacked themselves four levels high on a truck intended for pigs. On Monday, a few boarded a truck carrying a shipment of coffins, while others squeezed into a truck with narrow cages used for transporting chickens. Many, especially men, travel on open platform trailers used to transport steel and cars or get in the freight containers of 18-wheelers and ride with one of the back doors open to provide air flow.Last month, a Honduran man in the caravan died when he fell from a platform truck in the Mexican state of Chiapas.A smaller, second caravan began arriving in Mexico City on Monday. By Tuesday, over 1,000 migrants had set up camp at the same Mexico City sports complex the larger caravan left Saturday. A third caravan was heading toward the capital. Many say they are fleeing rampant poverty, gang violence and political instability primarily in the Central American countries of Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador and Nicaragua.Mexico has offered refuge, asylum or work visas, and its government said Monday that 2,697 temporary visas had been issued to individuals and families to cover them during the 45-day application process for more permanent status. Some 533 migrants had requested a voluntary return to their countries, the government reported. The caravans became a campaign issue in U.S. midterm elections and U.S. President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of over 5,000 military troops to the border to help fend off the migrants. Trump has insinuated without proof that there are criminals or even terrorists in the group.Associated Press contributed to this report. 2621

This administration has said the words on the Statue of Liberty should be rewritten, and in their actions, they are already changing who we are as a country.Bahamas destruction like 'nuclear bombs were dropped,' USAID saysBy Friday, the Coast Guard had rescued more than 230 people off the islands. Those who lived through the storm bring with them horrific tales of survival: breaking through rooftops or swimming onto boats to try and ride out the violent waters. Some reported they had family members still missing and others recalled watching friends and neighbors drown in the storm surge.USAID Administrator Mark Green told reporters on Sunday his agency is leading humanitarian relief efforts of the US government in the Bahamas by providing "lifesaving and life-sustaining assistance: food, water, sanitation, emergency shelter, and medical care needed to facilitate the Bahamian government's response."On Saturday, USAID announced million in additional humanitarian assistance to help people affected in the Bahamas. That brings the agency's total funding to more than .8 million.Green said he toured Abaco and other parts of the Bahamas after the hurricane and said some areas looked "almost as though nuclear bombs were dropped on them."Search and rescue operations continueLocal authorities believe there are people buried under the rubble, but they have no way of knowing how many or when they will be able to get to them.Search and rescue personnel who arrived with cadaver dogs on the Abaco Islands brought body bags and coolers to store human remains, said Joy Jibrilu, director general of the country's tourism and aviation ministry.Marsh Harbour, the biggest town in the Abacos, was one of the hardest hit. A truck delivered at least two bodies to a makeshift mortuary Saturday. The morticians told CNN the difficulty in reaching the dead was slowing their work. Dive teams were needed to recover many submerged bodies, they said.Authorities have said the current death toll may rise as search and rescue operations begin and they start sifting through the wreckage. In the hardest hit areas of Grand Bahama and the Abaco Islands, entire neighborhoods had been cleared out, trees and poles were down and boats were scattered. The public should prepare for "unimaginable information about the death toll and the human suffering," Health Minister Duane Sands told Guardian Radio 96.9 FM. 2406

Those W-2s, 1099s and other tax forms you’ve been getting in the mail? The IRS is getting copies of them, too. So when you prepare your tax return, be sure to report the information on those forms. If it doesn’t match what the IRS already has on hand, the IRS may have some questions for you.“Matching has proven to be a very, very beneficial way for the Internal Revenue Service to get individuals to comply with the tax law, because they automatically send notices out with a tax calculation and penalties and interest for unreported income,” says Mitchell Freedman, a certified public accountant in Westlake Village, California. 641
