SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — If you're trying to find a precious ticket to San Diego Comic-Con this summer, watch out for villainous scammers scalping fake badges.The Better Business Bureau has issued a warning that third-party sellers may sell fake badges."For consecutive years now, Comic-Con International has sold out in record time and obtaining a badge has become strenuous," the BBB writes. "One of the most pervasive scams BBB has found over the years is the reselling scam in which a scammer claims they bought a badge but can no longer attend the convention."MAP: Where to find you favorite Comic-Con exhibitsScammers may offer their fake badge, tricking customers into thinking they can change the name on their badge to theirs. But they can't and Comic-Con doesn't allow legitimate badge holders to do so."A key factor for consumers to remember is Comic-Con provides a refund at the buyer’s request, making it unnecessary to resell a ticket," BBB adds.The BBB says another common scam with SDCC badges is scammers sell "extra tickets." Comic-Con badgeholders are limited to one ticket each, so third-party sellers can't have extra badges to sell. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Law enforcement agencies across San Diego County must comply with a new law designed to increase transparency of police misconduct.Senate Bill 1421 requires departments to release records of officer-involved shootings and major uses of force, officer dishonesty and confirmed cases of sexual assault to the public.Earlier this year several police associations in San Diego County sued to block the release of records, arguing Senate Bill 1421 doesn’t contain any express provision or language requiring retro-activity or any clear indication that the legislature intended the statue to operate retroactively.They claimed the bill eliminates the longstanding statutory confidentiality of specified peace officer or custodial officer personnel records.In March a judge ruled the bill applies retroactively to all personnel records of peace officers not only now but before January 1, 2019.The Judge ruled no records could be released before March 29 giving the unions time to appeal if they want. It does not appear any have appealed.Some agencies tell 10News they plan to start releasing records this week.10News is still waiting to hear from other local agencies about when they are planning to release records. 1238

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — If you've noticed the sharp increase in gas prices around San Diego lately, chances are we're not done.The average price for a gallon of gas Saturday was .77 in San Diego, according to AAA, jumping another four cents since Friday and reaching the highest San Diego has seen in about five months.At this time last month, San Diegans were paying on average 46 cents less per gallon. A year ago, 23 cents less. The closest San Diego's average has come in recent months to was .84 on average in Oct. 2018, according to Gas Buddy.GAS MAP: Search for the cheapest gallon in San Diego with our Gas Map"Four dollars a gallon on average is certainly within the realm of possibility given today's average is .73 and wholesale prices went up some 18 cents," Patrick HeHaan, with GasBuddy, told 10News. "That, in addition to the increases that are already coming down the pipeline, will likely thrust San Diego to that a gallon mark. That's something we have not seen in four, call it five years."AAA says a series of refinery issues have reduced gas supplies. According to Bloomberg, Valero Energy Corp's refinery in the Bay Area, Phillips 66 refinery in Los Angeles, and Chevron Corp.'s El Segundo plants have all seen shut downs and halts in oil production this month due to various problems.Nationally, gas has been averaging .73 a gallon. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Longtime San Diego State football coach Rocky Long is stepping down after nine seasons.San Diego State officials announced Wednesday that Long will be replaced by Aztecs defensive line coach Brady Hoke.Hoke was SDSU's head coach in 2009 and 2010 before leaving to become head coach at Michigan. Long served as defensive coordinator under Hoke and replaced him when he left in 2010.RELATED: San Diego State basketball reaches top ten in polls for first time since 2014During his nine seasons as head coach, Long lead the team to a 81-38 record, three Mountain West Conference championships, and four 10-win seasons since 2015. Combined with previous head coach positions, he is 146-107 in his career."It's time. It's time," Long said.
