SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A unique way to watch movies outdoors is coming to San Diego's waters.Floating Cinema is coming to San Diego on Sept. 2 - 6, organizers say. Tickets will go on sale here.The cinema will include 12 to 24 mini boats that can hold up to eight people per boat. Tickets will require individuals to purchase the entire boat to make sure groups are seated with friends and family only, and to allow for distancing between boats.Throughout the week, the cinema will screen a mix between golden oldies and new releases that will be announced when tickets go on sale. Popcorn will be offered for free, while other movie snacks and drinks will be made available for purchase.Ticket options and movie screening details will be released closer to the event. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman was arrested early Sunday morning after police say she stabbed her son several times. Police responded to the 8000 block of Donzee Street near I-805 and SR-163 just after 2 a.m.According to police, a 71-year-old mother and her 31-year-old son got into an argument when things got physical.The woman reportedly stabbed her son four times before calling police to report the stabbing.The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His mother was arrested and booked into jail. 538
SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A San Diego program has received a state grant to train law enforcement officers across California.The program, Game Changer, was founded in 2016 by Sean Sheppard after he saw large protests break out across the country against police brutality.His idea was simple. He would bring members of the public together with law enforcement officers over a sports game."To get some human bonding time," explains Sheppard. "Because that rarely takes place between law enforcement and the general public."Before, they would talk for a few hours about what issues they saw between police and the communities they serve. After, they would get to socialize at the game.Since 2016, Game Changer has hosted 60 events and continues to grow.The Game Changer model was just awarded a 2-year, 0,000 grant from the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.Once the program is accredited, law enforcement personnel who complete a Game Changer event can put it toward their required training credit hours.Members of the public are needed too. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An unlicensed Coronado dentist accused of taking local patients to Tijuana for dental implants pled guilty to felony and misdemeanor charges Wednesday.Robert Mansueto faced more than 20 charges when the trial over his practices began. Wednesday, he pled guilty to two felony counts and three misdemeanor counts, including unlicensed dentistry with risk of bodily harm, grand theft, and practicing of dentistry under a false name.Mansueto's lawyer told Team 10 they viewed the plea as a victory, saying this resolves the case for what they argue actually occurred.TEAM 10 COVERAGE: 647
