WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court says Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has been released from a Baltimore hospital where she had been treated for a possible infection.The 86-year-old Ginsburg has returned to her home in Washington, D.C., and is “doing well,” court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said Sunday.Ginsburg spent two nights at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She was taken there Friday after experiencing chills and fever.The court says she received intravenous antibiotics and fluids and that her symptoms abated.Ginsburg has had four occurrences of cancer, including two in the past year. She had lung cancer surgery in December and received radiation treatment for a tumor on her pancreas in August.She had a rare absence from a public session of the court in mid-November because of what the court said was a stomach bug. She was back on the bench the next time the justices met.Her latest hospital stay began Friday, after the justices met in private to discuss pending cases.She was initially evaluated at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington before being transferred to Johns Hopkins for further evaluation and treatment of any possible infection.Ginsburg has been on the court since 1993, appointed by President Bill Clinton. Hodges decision.Thomas and Alito argue that the decision threatens the religious liberty of Americans who believe that marriage is a “sacred institution” between a man and woman.“Due to Obergefell, those with sincerely held religious beliefs concerning marriage will find it increasingly difficult to participate in society without running afoul of Obergefell and its effect on other antidiscrimination laws,” wrote the justices.Thomas and Alito were among the four justices who voted against legalizing same-sex marriage five years ago, arguing that it should have been left to the states to the decide.“If the states had been allowed to resolve this question through legislation, they could have included accommodations for those who hold these religious beliefs,” they wrote.Monday’s opinion came as the court declined to hear the case involving Kentucky clerk Kim Davis, who made headlines in 2015 as she declined marriage licenses to gay couples, despite the Supreme Court ruling. WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — A Pasco County photographer recruited her friends for a creative Halloween photoshoot involving pizza and pumpkins.Jennifer Sapountsis said the COVID-19 pandemic has been stressful for everyone."Trick-or-treating has changed a lot and people can't do as much stuff, so why not just try to bring smiles to people's faces and have fun with it," said Sapountsis.She asked her friends, Chris and Sarah Weed, to carve two pumpkins. The three then went to The Edison, a venue in Dade City.The couple was photographed wearing pumpkins on their head. They also ate some pizza."I feel like pizza and beer is an iconic thing for couples when they're chill. What do you want to do on a date night? Let's order some pizza, some beer, chill out," she said.The couple also dressed as ghosts and danced around.
