WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration has issued a directive halting the eviction of certain renters though the end of 2020 to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. Senior administration officials say the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has broad authority to take actions deemed reasonably necessary to prevent the spread of a communicable disease. The president and CEO of the National Low Income Housing Coalition, Diane Yentel, says the order will provide relief for millions of anxious families, but adds that the action delays rather than prevents evictions. WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — A Pasco County photographer recruited her friends for a creative Halloween photoshoot involving pizza and pumpkins.Jennifer Sapountsis said the COVID-19 pandemic has been stressful for everyone."Trick-or-treating has changed a lot and people can't do as much stuff, so why not just try to bring smiles to people's faces and have fun with it," said Sapountsis.She asked her friends, Chris and Sarah Weed, to carve two pumpkins. The three then went to The Edison, a venue in Dade City.The couple was photographed wearing pumpkins on their head. They also ate some pizza."I feel like pizza and beer is an iconic thing for couples when they're chill. What do you want to do on a date night? Let's order some pizza, some beer, chill out," she said.The couple also dressed as ghosts and danced around. Sapountsis shared the photos on her Facebook page, Jennifer Alyssa Photography."I've gotten a lot of responses. I've seen other people try to do the same thing. I've seen a lot of people say that this is what I needed for my day....this was so funny, I want to do the same shoot next year," she said.She said she hopes the pictures make people laugh and smile. She also said her friend's husband was not crazy about the idea until he saw the finished product."He loves his wife, so he was okay doing it and going that extra step...there was so much laughter, so much fun. He was absolutely okay with it at the end. She says nationwide we are in the third peak of the virus but still in the first wave. It's the first wave, because cases never went down enough to reach the baseline.“I think everybody, including myself, we are all tired of COVID-19,” said Madad. “We're all tired of constantly socially distancing, wearing a mask, but this is our new normal. This is our reality, and this is what we have to do to not only protect ourselves, but our family, our loved ones and our community.”She says it is possible to see family or friends safely for the holidays, but you have to plan ahead. First, she recommends quarantining for 14 days before you see them.“Testing does not give you a free pass in terms of, OK I’ve tested negative, that means I don't have to quarantine for 14 days. That means I can safely merge my social bubble. That is absolutely not the case,” said Madad.She also says you need to consider if anyone you are visiting is high risk and do your homework about the area you are traveling to. Also, look at hospital capacity.And you should consider additional precautions once you arrive.“Even if you've merged your social bubble and you've done that 14-day quarantine period, it's just always best to try to limit the risk in terms of contracting and spreading COVID-19, just in case and so things to do on top of that is try to have these activities outdoor as much as possible,” said Madad.The national Home Safe for the Holidays initiative recently launched by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group is calling for more testing.It says governors need to ensure test results are coming back in 48 hours or less to prevent small incidents from becoming outbreaks.Madad says looking at how much testing is being done in the area you're considering traveling to is important in making your decision. 2210

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Trump administration has rescinded a rule that would have required international students to transfer schools or leave the country if their colleges hold classes entirely online this fall because of the coronavirus pandemic.The administration’s decision was announced at the start of a hearing in a federal lawsuit in Boston brought by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.The announcement brings relief to thousands of foreign students who had been at risk of being deported from the country, along with hundreds of universities that were scrambling to reassess their plans for the fall in light of the policy.The rule was facing opposition from state governments across the country.
