SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Three men were arrested in Tijuana for the brutal murder of three teens in Mexico, including two from San Diego. The three suspects, identified only as Fabricio, Esteban Manuel and Alejandro were arrested at an unknown time, authorities in Mexico say. 17-year-old Christopher Alexis Gomez and 18-year-old Juan Suarez Ojeda were found shot to death in Tijuana on November 25. Both teenagers attended O'Farrell Charter School in Encanto. Another teen believed to be Ojeda’s friend was also killed. RELATED: Two San Diegans, Mexican teen shot to death in TijuanaGomez’s cousin, Katheryn Garcia, said the two were likely tortured in different locations before being killed execution-style in front of a housing complex. Garcia said her cousin planned to head to a barbecue in Ensenada on Friday. Investigators believe all three teenagers were taken from an apartment complex at gunpoint before being killed. It’s still unknown why the teens may have been targeted. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The White House confirmed Tuesday that it is reviewing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.It comes as the Department of Homeland Security announced changes to the program that gives protection to some undocumented immigrants who came to the U.S. as children, guarding them against deportation.In a news release, DHS announced the following changes to the DACA program:Reject all initial requests for DACA and associated applications for Employment Authorization Documents;Reject new and pending requests for advanced parole absent exceptional circumstances; and,Limit the period of renewed deferred action granted pursuant to the DACA policy after the issuance of this memorandum to one year.Last month, the Supreme Court blocked an attempt by the Trump Administration to end DACA altogether.DACA supporters are expected to go to court to stop the changes announced Tuesday. 925

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — The San Diego Padres infielder Ian Kinsler has announced his retirement from baseball.The Padres' second baseman announced his retirement after 14 seasons in the major league, team announced Friday. Kinsler, 37, will remain with the Padres as an advisor to baseball operations. According to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, Kinsler is still owed .25 million on his contract, which he will reportedly work out with the team.Kinsler was placed on the disabled list last August over a herniated cervical disk, which prevented him from finishing out the season. The injury played a role in his decision to leave the game.“To be honest, it was a factor in my decision,” Kinsler told The Athletic. "It just felt like this is the end, time to move on. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Threats from President Donald Trump to move forward with ICE raids aren't stopping a Barrio Logan organization from patrolling the streets and alerting the community when agents are in their neighborhoods. Union Del Barrio is a 38-year-old organization. In the last year, they started the community patrols to warn neighbors of their rights, if ICE shows up at their door. Benjamin Prado is a member of Union Del Barrio. He says volunteers patrol in Logan Heights, Barrio Logan, Shelltown, City Heights and Linda Vista. Prado says they never interfere with the ICE agents doing their job, only document what they see. The organization is also training volunteers in other cities, including Los Angeles. Prado says they feel ICE shouldn't exist at all and that these patrols are to challenge the administration, trying to stop them from terrorizing and separating their families with deportations. On Saturday, Trump said the administration would move forward with ICE raids "fairly soon". Late Sunday afternoon, the president also tweeted in response to a New York Times article saying in part "people should not be entering the country illegally" while also praising the work of Border Patrol and others in law enforcement. Trump also insisted the wall is being built. So far, no word from the administration as to when the deportations will start. 1378
