SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was Tased in the face and stabbed several times during a fight in the Rolando Park neighborhood, according to police. The incident happened near Newsome Drive and Odom Street around 1:19 a.m. Sunday. According to police, two brothers were visiting their girlfriends in the neighborhood when the two men got into a fight with a nearby group. RELATED: Man shot in Encanto, police searching for suspectDuring the fight, one of the brothers was Tased in the face by a woman and stabbed in the back three times by an unknown suspect. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are looking into the incident. 675

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A mountain lion cub rescued by the San Diego Humane Society continues to make great strides in its recovery.The Humane Society said the female cub was found by Vista Grande Fire Station firefighters near a road in Idyllwild on Sept. 2. The cub was “semiconscious, extremely emaciated, dehydrated, weak and had tremors,” according to the Humane Society.Under the care of the Humane Society’s Project Wildlife, the cub -- believed to be 14 weeks old -- has made significant health progress.Through daily fluid therapy, medications, and proper meals, the Humane Society said the cub has increased her weight from 10.5 pounds to 22 pounds.Christine Barton, the director of Operations & Wildlife Rehabilitation at the Humane Society’s Ramona campus, said, “With each passing day, she becomes more active and responsive and, though she still has some medical issues to overcome from being in such a fragile state, we are delighted she has responded well to our treatment and are hopeful she will make a full recovery. Mountain lions are special predators and we are proud to have an expert team trusted by the state of California to care for the species.”The Humane Society added:“Mountain lions typically stay with their mother until they disperse to live a solitary life at around 12-18 months of age. Because it is not safe to return a young mountain lion to the wild if found injured or orphaned as a kitten, Project Wildlife has been working with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to monitor her progress and when stabilized, to ensure she has a good permanent home at a qualified facility.San Diego Humane Society acquired the Fund for Animals Wildlife Center in Ramona on Sept. 1 from the Humane Society of the United States. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A heartbroken mother is making a plea for tips after a burglar makes off with a computer with with "priceless memories."An upset Sheila Conway shared her story with 10News, weeks after she returned to her home on Norwich Street to a break-in. It appears the burglar opened an unlocked outer door, before somehow opening another door. Taken were Conway's purse and her silver HP laptop. Inside that computer: A lifetime of memories of her only child, her son Tyler Peckham. Tyler, diagnosed with schizophrenia, took his own life in 2014 at the age of 26. Just off the kitchen is a wall memorial dedicated to Tyler, filled with photos showing Tyler growing up into adulthood. Conway says the computer contained hundreds of photos, most of them not backed up. “Cried a lot and just furious. It wasn’t a laptop, but memories that were stolen … everything from baby pictures to adult photos that I’ll never see again,” said Conway. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Lakeside mother made a life-changing sacrifice for a teenager she had never met.“I went into this not knowing if I would ever meet the family,” said Tiffany Jokerst of the surgery.Jokers, a math teacher, has spent her life giving to others. She was web surfing when she noticed a post that would push her to do even more.“I actually saw a story online about a little girl who needed a kidney,” said Jokerst.Without hesitation, Jokerst launched into the process, only to learn she was not a match to the girl. However, Jokerst was a match to 17-year-old Alejandro Hernandez.“Alejandro has been struggling with kidney disease all his life, finally his kidneys failed,” said Dr. Elizabeth Ingulli of Rady Children’s Hospital.The hospital currently has 29 patients on its transplant waiting list.Jokerst agreed to the surgery and Hernandez received the transplant he desperately needed.“I can play soccer, work out, hang out with my friends,” Hernandez said.Jokerst and Hernandez met for the first time Tuesday. Their biological bond is undeniable and they hope their new friendship lasts a lifetime.“I’m so happy,” Hernandez said. 1156

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A San Diego family is hoping to make their way home from Mexico on Thursday after having to ride out Hurricane Delta at the hotel where they were staying. Victor Lopez is a local restaurant owner of El Pollo Grill. Lopez's family traveled to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico last week. As Hurricane Delta was approaching, they booked a flight to leave the region, but their flight was canceled as they were heading to the airport. As the hurricane was approaching, the family was moved to a hotel ballroom where they spent the night as the hurricane passed. Lopez says there were no windows in the ballroom so they could only hear the heavy rain and strong winds. Lopez admits that the ballroom was crowded and there was some concern of COVID-19, but he said the hotel staff was disinfecting constantly and everyone was wearing masks. The hurricane did little damage to the resort in Playa Del Carmen, but just 45 minutes away in Cancun's hotel zone, debris and palm fronds were scattered all over the streets. Lopez and his family are hoping to return to San Diego on Thursday afternoon. Hurricane Delta is expected to make landfall in Louisiana on Friday afternoon. 1188
