SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — TwitchCon has announced it will cancel this year's convention in San Diego originally scheduled in September.The convention — which brings together popular video streamers and the community for panels, parties, and more — was set to arrive in San Diego from Sept. 25-27 before organizers called off the event."Due to restrictions on large gatherings and ongoing concerns for the health and safety of our community, the Twitch team and the local San Diego community, we have decided to cancel TwitchCon San Diego this fall," organizers stated online. The convention is now exploring ways to potentially hold the event virtually."While we can’t gather in person, we’re exploring ways that we could join forces in an alternate dimension later this year. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego County Crime Stoppers and investigators from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station are looking for a woman, possibly pregnant, accused of using counterfeit bills at several businesses in North County.According to investigators, on April 14, 2018, a woman used a counterfeit 0 bill at Yogurt 101 located at 152 N. Highway 101 in Solana Beach.Investigators said on April 19, 2018, the same female suspect used another counterfeit 0 bill at Sun Splash located at 2673 Via De La Valle in Del Mar. They also said the woman is believed to have used a counterfeit 0 bill at a business in Carlsbad.The suspect is described as a 25 to 35-year-old Hispanic woman who stands between 5’4” and 5’6” tall. She has long, dark wavy hair and a tattoo on the right side of her upper chest. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- With a shortened and fanless baseball season underway, there is still confusion and legal challenges over refunds for tickets.Sydnie Gallegos lives in San Diego, but she is a loyal Dodgers fan. Every year, she and moe than a dozen of her family members see a game live at Dodgers Stadium. “We do it once a year, every year, for the last six years,” Gallegos said.Gallegos, like so many others, were left in the dark wondering what to do about tickets they bought.Her family bought tickets to a July 4th game back in March. “It was for 15 of me and my family members. That’s over ,400 just in tickets,” Gallegos said.Although Major League Baseball announced refund policies in April, Gallegos said they didn’t hear anything until July. They received an email from the Dodgers, offering ticketholders “with an account credit for all 2020 tickets and parking (plus applicable fees).”The team also added a 10 percent bonus credit, which could be applied for the 2021 season. A spokesperson for the Padres also said they’re also offering fans a refund or use their credit towards the 2021 season.Despite refunds now being issued to fans, a class action lawsuit over the issue continues. Several ticket buyers sued Major League Baseball, the teams, as well as StubHub, Ticketmaster, and Live Nation. The attorneys for the plaintiffs said they are still moving forward with the lawsuit because they “continue to pursue their claims so that each ticket purchaser for the MLB 2020 season will receive a full refund as soon as possible.”“As the season will have no fan attendance, Defendants have no reason to keep any of the ticket purchasers’ money,” attorney Blake Yagman wrote to Team 10. 1712

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- One person died and another was hospitalized after a single-car crash near the harbor in downtown San Diego Sunday morning.Authorities say the crash happened on North Harbor Drive and Broadway just after 2 a.m. Police say one person died at the scene and a woman was rushed to the hospital following the crash.Harbor Police say the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and crashed into a palm tree causing the vehicle to catch fire.Officers said they believe the woman was ejected from the car. Police are working to identify both victims of the crash.Police say though the car is unrecognizable following the crash, they believe the car is an exotic vehicle.Harbor Drive will remain closed for at least the next three hours, according to police. 817
