(KGTV) — Several storms that have showered California with snow and rain have lifted the state out of drought for the first time since 2011.The U.S. Drought Monitor said Thursday that California was free of drought for the first time since Dec. 20, 2011. The state had seen some form of drought for at least 376 consecutive weeks.As of Thursday, the agency said more than 93 percent of the state was out of drought conditions. San Diego County's drought conditions were due to abnormally dry years prior to this winter, according to the agency, and local reservoirs were not at capacity despite the heavy rains."The rest of the region in Southern California is still abnormally dry due to very dry previous years. Reservoirs in San Diego County are only at 65 [percent] capacity. Then, you can even prepare to buy any items that you think will be in high demand or at risk of selling out.“Because everyone’s shopping online, no one is going to be lining up in a store,” Rea-Palmer says. “The equivalent of that online is really to put these items in your shopping cart beforehand so that you’re ready to purchase them when they go on sale.”Prep for a return tripIf you buy something you don’t like on Black Friday, you can usually return it. (KGTV) — More than 20,000 acres have been scorched in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties by the Apple Fire since Friday, prompting evacuation orders for thousands of residents.The fire had burned 26,450 acres and was 5% contained as of Monday at 7:48 a.m., according to Cal Fire.Officials say the blaze began as two separate fires on Friday in Cherry Valley, an unincorporated area near Beaumont in Riverside County, before exploding over the weekend and crossing into San Bernardino County.RELATED: Several San Diego County fire departments help fight growing Apple FireThe U.S. Forest Service says the majority of the area covering the northern and eastern edges of the fire is very steep and rugged, making it difficult for crews to access the area with vehicles. The agency added that a high pressure ridge on Sunday created hot and dry conditions, fueling the flames.Helicopters and fixed-wing air tankers were assisting ground crews and equipment in battling the fire.At least one home and two outbuildings have been destroyed by the fire and several more were threatened. "That's how it works."The officer then takes the money, which was booked into evidence.Since the video was released, UC Berkeley Vice Chancellor Scott Bidd issued a statement saying they, "have instructed our officers to monitor illegal vending outside our event venues. This action has been motivated at least in part by issues of public health, the interests of local small businesses and even human trafficking.""In addition, while I cannot comment on the specifics of this particular case, our practice is to issue warnings before giving a citation. In a case such as this, it is typical to collect any suspected illegal funds and enter them into evidence," Bidd said in a statement.Bidd added that he has assigned University of California Police Department to open an investigation into the incident and that the well-being of the community "including those from our marginalized communities of color, is most important to us."UCPD detained three other individuals for vending without a license during the same weekend, according to the university.
