(CNN) -- Someone is shooting the Mojave Desert's wild burros dead, officials say. Now, they're offering ,000 to whoever helps nab the suspects.Over the last three months, Bureau of Land Management officials have found the bodies of 42 donkeys covered in gunshot wounds near the California-Nevada border. They were killed illegally in the Clark Mountain Herd Area."We will pursue every lead until we've arrested and prosecuted those responsible for these cruel, savage deaths, and we welcome the public's help to bring the perpetrator or perpetrators to justice," BLM deputy director for policy and programs William Perry Pendley said.Under the Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act, burros are protected as "living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West." As such, they can't be killed, harassed, captured or branded in 10 Western states controlled by the Department of the Interior or the US Forest Service.Details about the crimes are slim, but BLM officials told the Los Angeles Times a few of the burros were killed while drinking water from nearby springs. Gavin Newsom said that the state's counties will be allowed to reopen hair salons and barber shops starting Tuesday.Newsom said that the 47 of 58 California counties that have been allowed to proceed through Stage 2, including San Diego County, can allow hair salons and barbershops to reopen with modifications under their plans."Those counties will begin to allow for those kinds of operations with meaning full modifications with the appropriate protective gear, particularly face coverings that are so essential in that environment, sanitation requirements, and the like," Newsom said. I have not seen anything saying that we can't."Corinne Lam with Solatto Salon in Rancho Bernardo said they have spent thousands of dollars on PPE and safety equipment. They have already installed plexiglass between work stations and have a team training later this week on the new protocols."Anything we have to do, we are ready to do it. We're just so excited to be able to get back to making a living and getting our clients feeling better," Lam said. Newsom said Tuesday's changes do not include nail salons or similar personal care services and that the state is still working on putting together guidelines for those businesses."The issues there require a little more specificity," Newsom said in regards to nail salons.Guidelines related to summer camps, childcare, and schools are expected to be released Wednesday. (KGTV) — Disney officials say the company's California parks are prepared to reopen as soon as the state gives guidance for theme parks to open their doors.During a roundtable discussion with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday, Disney World’s chief operating officer Jim MacPhee said the California theme parks are "ready to roll" once they are given the chance to reopen.“Disneyland has been ready to roll since July awaiting guidance from the state's governor on what the reopening protocols will be,” said MacPhee.RELATED: SeaWorld San Diego prepares to reopen with Zoo Days eventOfficials from Universal Studios who were also at the roundtable echoed the same preparedness."We're awaiting our park in Hollywood, as with Disney and SeaWorld, with respect to the state of California and the governor and when we'll be able to reopen. Disneyland, California Adventure, and Universal Studios have all been shuttered since March due to the pandemic.
