SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - It sounds like a deal of a lifetime - guarantee a weeklong vacation at a coastal resort every year - for a one-time payment of 0.The county of San Diego is auctioning off nearly 900 timeshares, some in areas like Del Mar, Solana Beach, Carlsbad and downtown for as little as 0. Timeshares can also be transferred to out-of-town hotels, one year at a time. The county expects many to go at the initial offering price. A timeshare is when a person shares in the ownership of a property with others, so that each gets a week of vacation per year. Many of the timeshares were repossessed after the Great Recession, when owners failed to pay at least five years of property tax. "For one week of family bliss in a vacation once a year, this may be the opportunity for as little as 0," said Dan McAllister, the county treasurer-tax collector. "But it is a buyer beware sale."San Diego attorney Dan Eaton said there are many risks to buying a timeshare, and getting out of one can be very difficult."If you think you're just buying a 0 timeshare and you've got access to the timeshare for life without any further cost, that's a huge mistake," Eaton said. Timeshares include annual fees - including maintenance - that can get very expensive."If you stop paying those fees, they can foreclose," Eaton said. "It's an interest in real property."At the Solana Beach Sand Pebbles resort - starting bid 0 - annual fees range from 4 to 2 depending on unit size. And some of the timeshares don't include some parts of the year. Allison Russell, the resort's property manager, said it's vital people do their due diligence before buying. She said the resort books up early, and owners need to reserve their week sometimes far in advance.Eaton said timeshares can work if you plan to go to the same resort year after year, but with so many options now available - including airbnb - it may be best to keep that 0.The county auction is online and runs from May 4 to May 9. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Jurors have reached their verdict in the trial of a man accused of killing a Navy sailor on a Logan Heights freeway ramp in 2018.Edson Acuna, 26, was found guilty of first-degree murder, robbery, and several other charges in connection with the murder of 21-year-old Curtis Adams on Oct. 27, 2018. Adams was driving on I-15 at about 2 a.m., when he came upon what appeared to be a disabled vehicle. As Adams got out of his vehicle to check on the car's occupants when he was shot.Prosecutors say Acuna and three others had burglarized a Mt. Hope home that night, before getting into a shootout with the home's residents. As they fled, one of their vehicle's tires were shot out. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- In response to growing community outrage over a man who was released on bail a day after being arrested on attempted kidnapping charges, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department has released surveillance video of the incident in hopes of alleviating concern.The incident happened Sunday just before 3 p.m. in the parking lot of Costco Warehouse located at 1755 Hacienda Drive in Vista.A couple and their two small children were backing out of a parking stall when the suspect opened the rear vehicle door. The suspect attempted to remove the 2-year-old child from the car.Adam Glavinic, 37, was arrested for attempted kidnapping and being under the influence of a controlled substance and was booked into the Vista Detention Facility.Outrage ensued following reports that Glavinic was released from jail on a 0,000 bail the next day.WATCH: Growing outrage over attempt kidnapping suspect's release on bail"The Sheriff's Department in partnership with the D.A.'s Office are now releasing the video due to understandable concern from community members," said Lt. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - In a follow-up to a Team10 story from last week about sexual harassment allegations at a local nonprofit, the man who is accused is coming forward to try to clear his name.  Last week Team10 aired an emotional interview with San Diegan Angelique Williams, who claimed that Gregory Hamilton, a former teacher who works as a local pastor, repeatedly harassed her with unwanted sexual advances. Hamilton is now firing back. "Read my lips. There has never been sexual harassment with Angelique Williams on any day on the face of this earth," he tells us. After cancelling on us multiple times before our original story aired, this week he finally agreed to do an on-camera interview to share his side of the story.  Williams was an adult student at San Diego's Second Chance nonprofit training program, where Hamilton was her job training instructor. He also works as a pastor at Uptown Church of Christ. The church's website reads it first congregated under his leadership in 2009.  When we asked the nonprofit about the sexual harassment allegations, they sent back a statement that read in part, "We agree that what happened to Ms. Williams should not happen to anyone." It also read, "He was later terminated." In the new interview, Hamilton tells us he never received anything from the nonprofit saying he was charged with sexual harassment. He says that before his termination, he had been threatening legal action against the nonprofit. "[It was] about the disparity of the treatment of African American people that come [to the nonprofit] compared to Latino people for assistance," he says. Hamilton showed us a letter that he says he got from the nonprofit. It explains how he was terminated for not meeting the requirements of a performance improvement plan. There is no mention of harassment. In our initial story, he sent us a copy of another letter that he says he got from the nonprofit. It was a confidential separation agreement with a severance payment of ,760.00. There was also no mention of harassment. When we had asked Second Chance about the separation agreement and severance, they declined to comment, citing privacy issues.  Williams firmly believes Hamilton sexually harassed her. She says he'd inappropriately touch her, repeatedly call her, and send suggestive text messages.  Hamilton maintains it was Williams who advanced on him. Not the other way. He says his only intention was a friendship. He would not show us most of the text exchanges between the two of them, adding he would save those to show in court.   We asked Second Chance for an explanation as to why harassment was not included as a basis for the termination in the letter he showed us. As of air time this Wednesday, Second Chance wrote it was unavailable for comment.Below is one of the statements Second Chance issued to us before the original story aired. "Second Chance strives to ensure all members of our community have the means to achieve self-sufficiency, regardless of gender, age, race, or criminal history. Our organization maintains and adheres to a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and takes appropriate measures, including maintaining written policies, providing training, and promptly addressing any allegations made to the organization to ensure all individuals are provided an environment that is professional and free from harassment. Additionally, all potential employees undergo multiple pre-employment screenings, and state and federal background checks must be satisfactorily completed before an individual begins working for our organization. The situation in question was promptly addressed by the organization in full accordance with our policies. Out of consideration for the privacy interests of those involved and our legal obligations, we cannot further comment on the specifics of this situation."  Hamilton sent us a text on Wednesday stating he plans to start a support group called #NotMe for men and women who have been accused of offenses they did not commit and subsequently suffer psychologically, emotionally, financially and socially.  4713
