A federal judge in San Diego on Friday called the Trump administration's plan outlining how the US government intends to reunite migrant children who were separated from their families with parents who have been deported "very impressive."US officials will first work to determine parentage and resolve any safety concerns for the child and then seek to reunite families. The submitted plan said there are 365 separated children with parents outside the US in the care of the Department of Health and Human Services, but officials later corrected that number.Scott Stewart, deputy assistant attorney general, said during a 40-minute joint status call Friday afternoon among the judge, the government, the American Civil Liberties Union and other nongovernmental organizations assisting with reunifications of separated families that the government actually has 386 children in its custody whose parents were deported. During an interview on Feb. 7, Trump described the dangers of the virus that had not yet fully engulfed the U.S., calling it "deadly." A heartbreaking social media post by the brother of James Eric Davis Jr., the man who police say shot his parents to death inside of his Central Michigan University dorm room Friday is asking for compassion and support for his younger brother.“To the media and opinionated people... Please don’t make a villain of my brother... that is NOT who he is... and despite the circumstances, he also lost a mother and father... And I LOVE him. A Glendale, Arizona mother is speaking out after her daughter’s class was subject to an odd punishment. Brittany Trofy says her 7-year-old daughter and classmates were forced to walk in a circle on the Luke Elementary School playground last week as punishment. It was around noon that day and temperatures were likely in the high 90’s or even warmer.Trofy claims the march lasted anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes. She says her daughter told her about the punishment when she came home that day.According to Trofy’s daughter, several kids complained of headaches and cramps. "The school stripped me of my right to nurture my child when she didn't feel good by not letting me know she didn't feel good,” Trofy said. The Dysart Unified School District confirmed to KNXV that they are reviewing the teacher’s actions that day. We’re told that the practice is not “district approved.” However, a spokesperson says it only lasted around five minutes. Students were checked by a school nurse and none displayed any signs of heat exhaustion. The Dysart Unified School District would not elaborate if the teacher would be facing punishment or has a history of questionable decision making. A spokesperson told us they cannot discuss personnel matters. "My daughter is right now scared to go back to school for fear of seeing the teacher that got frustrated with them,” Trofy said. A police officer was informed of the incident.
