(KGTV) — Country music artists banded together Wednesday to celebrate and recognize the best in the industry and provide some needed relief to a reeling music community.Nearly a week after the deadly shooting at a Thousand Oaks bar known for its affinity for country music, musicians focused on healing and laughing at the 52nd annual Country Music Association Awards. Garth Brooks led a solemn tribute to the 12 people killed during a shooting at a Southern California country music bar last week.RELATED: There's A Gender Gap In Country Music Radio - But Not In Its FansBrooks said the victims were "lost too soon" and urged viewers and the audience to "celebrate their lives." He then took off his hat and asked everyone to join him in a moment of silence. The names of those killed were shown on a black screen for television audiences.Authorities are still trying to determine what led a former Marine to attack the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks on Nov. 7 during a country music dance night that drew area college students and other young people.After the moment of silence, the show began with a rousing performance of Luke Bryan's song "What Makes You Country."Hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will help move the community through their healing process Wednesday, known for their lighthearted jokes poking at one another, their fellow singers, and — a week after midterms — politics.Also, a special appearance by Paisley's "older brother," Gary."His other name is Will Ferrell," Paisley said on Good Morning America. (KGTV) - An Amber Alert issued early Monday morning was canceled hours later when the Central California girl was reportedly found in Temecula.Law enforcement officials said Aaliyah Gomez was taken by her father Julio Gomez, who did not have custody.Aaliyah was taken overnight from Lemoore, near Bakersfield.  Officials believed her father was heading for the Mexican border in a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado.The girl was dropped off with family but Gomez remains at large, according to KABC. 501

Gavin Newsom and his family are in quarantine, after they learned that three of their children was recently exposed to a California Highway Patrol officer who had tested positive for COVID-19.Newsom said late Sunday that he and his family were isolating for 14 days following the exposure. Newsom said he and his wife, Jennifer, had no direct interaction with the officer.He added that on Sunday, his family had all tested negative."Late Friday evening, [Jennifer] and I learned that 3 of our children had been exposed to an officer from the California Highway Patrol who had tested positive for COVID-19. Jen and I had no direct interaction with the officer and wish them a speedy recovery," Newsom said in a statement on social media. "Thankfully, the entire family tested negative today. However, consistent with local guidance, we will be quarantining for 14 days. We are grateful for all the officers that keep our family safe and for every frontline worker who continues to go to work during this pandemic."Newsom's spokesperson, Nathan Click, had said on Friday that one of the Newsom's children may have been exposed to the virus while at school, though at that time, Click said it was a classmate that had tested positive.
