Cleveland police have issued an arrest warrant for 39-year-old William Hanlan, who they believe is behind the death of 24-year-old Nicholas Russell.Russell died last month after he was shot outside Mandy's Lounge, on Cleveland's west side. Police said Russell was playing pool at the sports bar when a man walked up and asked to join. There was an argument and the men stepped outside.Moments later, Russell was shot in the chest. Police said he was shot at point-blank range. He was taken to the hospital but died eight days later.Police believe Hanlan pulled the trigger.He is wanted on aggravated murder charges in Russell's death, a felony of the first degree.According to the arrest warrant, police believe Hanlan planned Russell's death prior to coming to the bar.Hanlan has a lengthy criminal past dating back to the late 1990s, but all of his offenses are either traffic violations or misdemeanor charges.    964

(KGTV) - A group of Coronado High School students claimed they faced intimidation by staff and security over a planned nationwide walkout over gun reform.Friday, students across the country walked out of class calling for reform to the nation's gun laws. CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) — Coronado officials warned beachgoers of two shark sightings on Sunday, almost 10 days following four other sightings.The city posted on Facebook that two white shark sightings occurred off South Beach at 9:10 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Officials added that a local surfer who reported the second sighting said the shark was possibly longer than 10 feet and seen about 50 yards offshore.Both sightings occurred near Tower 1C at Avenida de las Arenas, and the shark did not show any engaging behavior. Beachgoers were alerted Sunday and encouraged to check with lifeguards before going into the water. Sunday's sightings come nearly 10 days after Coronado said four shark sightings in two and a half hours prompted warnings. 748

Officials say that students put money into a pot, and the first one to contract the virus gets to keep the cash.Randy Smith, the Chief for the Tuscaloosa Fire Department, says he uncovered a major health concern involving area students and parties."We thought that was kind of a rumor at first," Smith said. "Not only did the doctors' offices help confirm it, but the state confirmed they also had the same information."Tuscaloosa City Councilmember Sonya McKinstry says it's up to young people to be responsible and avoid contact others if they're sick. She said the students' behavior is only slowing down a return to normalcy and putting the lives of their loved ones at risk."I just think it's senseless. I think it's careless. And it makes me mad as hell that you know we're constantly trying to do everything we can to slow the spread of the virus while they're just having a damn party trying to spread it," McKinstry said.The University of Alabama plans to reopen campus to students for in-person classes this fall.
