A United States Customs and Border Protection officer is accused of falsely claiming to be a US citizen when he applied for the job, the Department of Justice said. According to DOJ officials, Marco Antonio De La Garza Jr., 37, of Hereford, Ariz. was charged with three counts of passport fraud and false statements on his federal law enforcement background application. The DOJ is claiming that De La Garza knowingly used a fraudulently obtained Texas birth certificate to apply for a United States passport. De La Garza is also accused of using the same birth certificate to claim US citizenship during his background check.It is unknown how US officials were unable to figure out that De La Garza's paperwork was fraudulent.  The charges stemmed from an investigation conducted by  the Department of State-Diplomatic Security Service and the Department of Homeland Security-Office of Inspector General. The DOJ claims that De La Garza was actually born in Mexico. The Associated Press confirmed that he was hired by border patrol in 2012.   1116

A University of Utah track athlete was shot dead on the campus Monday night by a man she reportedly had dated and complained to police about, authorities said.University police found Lauren McCluskey's body in the back seat of a car on campus after her worried mother called police, according to university Police Chief Dale Brophy. McCluskey, 21, apparently had a dispute with the man, identified as Melvin Rowland, 37, university Police Lt. Brian Wahlin said.The shooting led police to lock down the campus for hours while they searched for the suspect. Brophy said someone picked the suspect up from campus after the shooting.Early Tuesday, Salt Lake City Police saw Rowland in downtown Salt Lake City and briefly chased him, Brophy said. A school bus driver's camera recorded the scary moment when another driver stopped in the middle of the Massachusetts Pike, exited his car and climbed onto the hood of the bus.Video recorded Tuesday shows a man forcing the bus to stop in the middle of the highway, then climb onto the vehicle's hood.The man got out right in the middle of the highway and he goes to the door of the bus.The bus driver does not let him in. So, he then goes back to the front and jumps right on the hood.The bus driver says the man was screaming that the windows on the bus were too dark."A man jumped on my bus going on the Mass. Turnpike, pulled me over in the middle lane and stopped the bus," said the bus driver."What did he say to you?" asked WCVB reporter John Atwater."His words were, 'Why are your windows dark?' I had the same reaction! A man was accidentally killed by a chainsaw Monday while helping a neighbor cut tree branches during Hurricane Irma cleanup.Authorities say a branch became entangled with the chainsaw. It kicked up and cut Wilfredo Hernandez's throat.Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded and used a harness to lower him from the tree, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.The map below shows where the incident happened. 419

A picture is worth a thousand words, but what about a selfie?A group of women in Yekaterinburg, Russia, may find out soon after one of them tried to take a selfie on October 27 and accidentally knocked over a structure at the International Arts Center Main Avenue. The structure was carrying two works of art, according to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and state-run news agency TASS.A surveillance video provided by MIA shows three people looking at art in the gallery when a structure carrying two works of art falls over. A person is seen behind the fallen structure.The damaged artworks, according to TASS, include a Francisco Goya etching from the Los Caprichos series and Salvador Dali's interpretation of it.
