An iconic, 25-foot-tall statue in Escondido just got its Christmas swag back.Vandals and rain kept the muffler man on the Joor Muffler lot from sporting his Santa suit for years.But Joor and Sickel's House of Fabrics, two historic businesses across the street from each other, came together to re-start the tradition."It's an icon. It's historic, so we tried to bring him back," said Nick Manning, who has owned Joor Muffler for 15 years. It took six people about an hour to put up the suit, at the corner of Valley and Juniper in Escondido. They did it they day before Thanksgiving to beat the rain. An additional 13 sets of human remains were discovered Monday in Northern California, bringing the death toll from the Camp Fire to 42, making it the deadliest wildfire in the state's history, the sheriff of Butte County said.The increased death toll comes as first responders continue battling blazes on both ends of the state, bringing the statewide toll to 44.They are fighting fierce winds to contain the Woolsey Fire and save lives and homes in populous Southern California. Ammon Bundy was among four people arrested by Idaho State Police on Tuesday at the Idaho state capitol. Bundy was taken into custody by Idaho State Police after he refused to stand from his chair in the Lincoln Auditorium at the Idaho Capitol.Bundy was handcuffed and wheeled out in the chair of the capitol by ISP troopers, according to a news release from Idaho State Police. He was arrested for trespassing and charged with resisting and obstructing officers, police said.Also arrested were 42-year-old Aaron Von Schmidt from Coeur d'Alene and Jill Watts, 38 from Nampa. Both Von Schmidt and Watts were charged with trespassing. The identity of the fourth person arrested is currently unknown.Troopers were clearing the hearing room on the order from Speaker of the House of Representatives Scott Bedke, police said.
