BEIJING, March 20 (Xinhua) -- The threat of inflation to China's economy is less worrisome compared with asset bubble, economists said Saturday at the China Development Forum 2010.China's economy is facing a new round of growth in the coming two years, but the risks of inflation and asset bubble remain, said Fan Gang, secretary general of the China Reform Foundation.Compared with inflation, tackling asset bubble is of greater importance because asset bubble, as one of the causes for this round of global financial crisis, is more dangerous, Fan said. He expected the country's economy to grow 8 to 9 percent this year in a "normal growth."Growth in China's property prices is accelerating and approaching an alarming level, said Nomura Holdings Inc. chairman Junichi Ujiie.Despite government measures to curb property prices, China's property market grew at its fastest pace in 20 months in February, with housing prices in 70 major cities rising 10.7 percent from a year ago.

DHAKA, March 14 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh attaches great importance to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's upcoming visit to China, Foreign Minister Dipu Moni said here on Sunday."We attach great importance to prime minister's visit to China as Bangladesh and China are trusted friends. BEIJING, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- China Unicom, the country's second largest telecom operator, said Saturday its net profit might have dropped by more than 50 percent in 2009, as the one-time gain from the sale of a mobile business laid a higher comparison basis for 2008.China Unicom, in October 2008, sold its Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) business and related assets to China Telecom, the largest fixed line service provider of the country, which substantially increased the profits of the company in 2008.The company said in a statement filed to the Shanghai Stock Exchange that its profit was also affected by the high costs for its new Wideband-CDMA operations.

BEIJING, March 9 (Xinhua) -- China would step up work to monitor non-banking financing, said the China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) Tuesday in a statement on its web-site.More focus would be put on businesses in connection with trust companies and the real estate sector to prevent banks from using non-banking financing to circumvent policies, said Liu Mingkang, chairman of the CBRC.The 2010 government loan target is 7.5 trillion yuan (1.10 trillion U.S. dollars). But in January alone, banks extended 1.39 trillion yuan in new loans -- 18.53 percent of the full-year target.More work should be done to improve risk management capacity to achieve sustainable development of the non-banking financing sector, Liu said.Non-banking financial institutions under the CBRC supervision include trust companies, finance companies, financial leasing companies, auto financing companies and money brokers.

MOSCOW, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- An assembly line of Chinese automaker Geely was officially launched in Russia's Caucasus republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, local media reported Saturday.     Russian car company Derways has started body welding and other assembling work of Geely-brand vehicles on Friday, according to Russian state TV channel Russia-24.     Some 1,100 units were expected to be produced by the end of February, the first batch of which will be delivered to Moscow by Jan. 20. The annual production of Geely will be no lower than 12,000 units.     Besides Geely, Derways was also scheduled to manufacture for other Chinese brands such as Li Fan, Great Wall Motors, Chery and Haima. The total annual output of the Derways company was estimated to reach 100,000 units.     Local residents could enjoy price discounts when purchasing these cars, according to the company, which also foresees a great demand of Chinese vehicles on Russian market.
