About 500 passengers left the cruise ship Diamond Princess on Wednesday at the end of a much-criticized two-week quarantine aboard the vessel, docked in Japan, that failed to stop the spread of the new virus among passengers and crew.The quarantine’s flop was underlined as authorities announced 79 more cases, bringing the total on the ship to 621. Some people still in their cabins waved farewell from their balconies to those who had already been processed.“I’m a bit concerned if I’m OK to get off the ship, but it was getting very difficult physically,” a 77-year-old man from Saitama, near Tokyo, who got off with his wife, told Kyodo News. “For now, we just want to celebrate.”Those disembarking with negative virus tests have fulfilled the Japanese quarantine requirement and are free to walk out and go home on public transportation, Health Minister Katsunobu Kato said Wednesday.He said the plan was approved by experts at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases. Passengers are only asked to watch their health carefully for a few days and notify local health authorities if they have any symptoms or worries, he said.Some passengers said on Twitter they received health forms asking if they had symptoms such as a headache, fever or coughing. South Korea earlier Wednesday returned seven people from the cruise ship, placing the six South Koreans and one Japanese family member into quarantine.Other foreign passengers were to be picked up by chartered flights sent from Canada, Australia, Italy and Hong Kong.Suga has defended Japan’s handling of the quarantine. “In the beginning, the United States expressed gratitude for the Japanese side. Aimee Bouc knew Austin Eubanks the way few people did.“He was not so much the person he was on TV. He wasn’t so serious," she says. Aimee was once married to Eubanks. The two met as teens and went on to have two children. Many knew Eubanks as a survivor of the 1999 Columbine shooting. He was shot in the hand and knee in the attack. He battled the impact of addiction and trauma over the 20 years that passed since the shooting. “I turned to substances to cope. That was the answer for me," Eubanks said in an interview in April for a story marking two decades since Columbine. Eubanks became a national spokesperson. He gave talks about his struggle becoming a beacon for others struggling the way he did. "I think it’s really important that not only as survivors of trauma, but survivors of addiction, speak out and share their stories," Eubanks said in April, "You never know when your story is going to change the life of somebody else."Austin wasn't able to fully escape the darkness of addiction. In May he was found dead in his home, the victim of an overdose. "There was so much pressure put on him to be this perfect person in the eyes of the world," Aimee says. "He didn’t feel he could actually go and get the treatment when he did go back to it.”In the months leading up to his death, Aimee suspected he was using again. “I believe there was always a fight. I don’t believe he was always using, believe that was more recently, Aimee says. "It never stops being a struggle. I don’t think addiction is something you can just stop struggling one day it’s always a work in progress." Now, as opioid companies face several lawsuits over the opioid crisis, Aimee says Austin would want more. “He wouldn’t want it to stop there," Aimee says. "In America, I believe strongly we need to start tackling and treating mental health and anxiety, depression, anything, any kind of problems. Almost like a dental check up in terms of insurance."Aimee knows progress in fighting the opioid crisis is too late for Austin, but she believes his life will still help others. "His story and the power behind Columbine really put him front and center of the opioid addiction and his TED talks and everything that he did," she said. "He brought a complete level of awareness and helped so many people and I've read their comments on how he helped them shape their lives. A study released Wednesday by the British Medical Journal claims that vegetarians could have a higher risk of a stroke than meat eaters.The study followed more than 48,000 participants in the UK for nearly 18 years. The study placed participants in three groups: Meat eaters, fish eaters and vegetarians. The study claims that vegetarians were 20 percent more likely to have a stroke than meat eaters, which equaled to be three additional haemorrhagic stroke victims per 1,000 participants. Before you change your eating habits, you should know that meat eaters were more likely to develop a heart disease than vegetarians. The difference between meat eaters and vegetarians was 10 additional cases of heart disease per 1,000 participants. According to the British Medical Journal, previous studies on the correlation between a vegetarian diet and strokes only reported stroke mortality. In those studies, there was no significant difference between vegetarians and meat eaters in stroke mortality. AKRON, Ohio — A fight over hot dogs at a Speedway gas station in Ohio on Saturday night led to a wild brawl caught on video that started inside and spilled out into the parking lot, according to a police report.Shortly after midnight, police were flagged down at Speedway 390 East Exchange Street, for a reference to a fight. A 27-year-old woman said she was standing in line at Speedway with her friend when she let another female know that she shouldn’t steal a hot dog since the gas station has cameras.The female and her friends “didn’t take kindly to that comment” and they punched the 27-year-old woman, the report says.A Good Samaritan saw what was going on and attempted to get the group of females off of the 27-year-old woman.
