Stormy Daniels was "truthful about having unprotected vaginal intercourse with Donald Trump in July 2006," according to a polygraph test report from 2011.The report states that the "probability of deception was measured to be less than 1%." It was given to CNN by Michael Avenatti, Daniels' attorney and contains three pertinent questions: "Around July 2006, did you have vaginal intercourse with Donald Trump?," "Around July 2006, did you have unprotected sex with Donald Trump?" and "Did Trump say you would get on 'The Apprentice?'"Daniels replied yes to all three questions. The first two were analyzed to be truthful, the third question was "inconclusive" according to the polygraph examiner Ronald Slay.Polygraphs are generally inadmissible in court.The polygraph was performed at the request of Bauer Publishing, which owns Life&Style and InTouch magazines, according to the reporter who interviewed Daniels in 2011. Reporter Jordi Lippe-McGraw initially interviewed Daniels for Life & Style magazine. The interview was not published at the time, but Bauer Publishing released it in InTouch magazine earlier this year.Lippe-McGraw told CNN on Tuesday that Daniels passed the test in a broader sense. "Based off of the interview, we had her take the polygraph test to confirm the details of what she was telling us. There wasn't much in the way of physical evidence, per se," Lippe-McGraw said, adding that the big-picture question they wanted to confirm was that the affair happened, and that Daniels passed. Support is growing for early voting, but there's still a lot of distrust for voting by mail.Just over 3 in 10 people say they're very confident their vote will be counted accurately if they vote by mail. Nearly 7 in 10 say the same thing about voting in person on Election Day. That's according to a new poll from the University of Maryland and The Washington Post.There's a big racial disparity in perceptions about election integrity. About 71% of Black Americans in the poll say it’s easier for white Americans to vote, while only 34% of white Americans believe that's the case.“There's a historic trend of distrust in government amongst racial and ethnic minorities,” said Jonathan Collins, education and political science assistant professor at Brown University. “And instances like this during the need to transition to mail-in voting. This is where that distrust really kind of rears its head.Collins studies ethnic minority political behavior. He says campaigns from state attorneys would be helpful to reassure people their mail-in ballots will be counted properly.The U.S. Postal Service is trying to educate people on its role in the mail-in voting process with TV ads. It says the nonpartisan campaign neither encourages nor discourages mail-in voting. Collins expects a lot of African Americans are still going to prefer in-person voting.“There is this sense of pride that you get from showing up to your precinct, to your polling station on Election Day and in-person casing your vote. There's a pride of wearing the 'I voted' sticker around for your friends and our family and your coworkers to see. How do we replicate that feeling of pride?”About 6 in 10 registered voters nationwide say they want to cast their ballot before Election Day. Compare that to 2016, when about 4 in 10 people cast ballots early.For mail-in voters worried about their vote not counting, many states allow residents to track their ballot. TEMPE, Ariz. — A Tempe bar is under investigation for allegedly allowing employees who had tested positive for COVID-19 to continue working, as well as allegedly violating the governor's executive order to enforce social distancing measures, the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control said Thursday.According to a news release, Varsity Tavern, a bar and restaurant in downtown Tempe, reportedly told the Arizona Department of Liquor on Wednesday that it had closed in light of the investigation. Its license has been deemed inactive, which prevents the business from buying or selling alcohol.John Cocca, director of the department, will seek to revoke the venue's liquor license, the news release said.Varsity Tavern faces the following alleged violations:Multiple instances where management required or permitted employees who had tested positive for COVID-19 to continue workingManagement failed to take appropriate measures to notify the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) or other agencies, employees, or customers that employees who had tested positive had worked while symptomaticManagement failed to create or enforce written policies in compliance with the executive order, CDC or ADHS guidelinesManagement failed to enforce social distancing guidelines requiring masks or limiting groups to gatherDepending on the outcome of the investigation, penalties could include suspension or revocation of the bar's liquor license, and up to ,000 in fines per violation, according to the notice given to Varsity Tavern.Because of the seriousness of the charges, anyone with information is asked to call the Department's Investigations Division at 602-542-9062. 1691
