JUSTIN, Texas – Yaser Abdel Said, one of the FBI’s 10 most wanted fugitives, was taken into custody in Texas on Wednesday.Said, 63, has been wanted since 2008, when the FBI says the father shot and killed his teenage daughters, 18-year-old Amina and 17-year-old Sarah.Before the shooting in Irving, the Egyptian-born suspect allegedly took the teens for a ride in his taxicab under the guise of taking them to get something to eat.A police report at the time said a family member reported Said threatened “bodily harm” against Sarah for going on a date with a non-Muslim, The Associated Press reports.Based on an investigation by the Irving Police Department, a capital murder-multiple warrant was issued for Said’s arrest on Jan. 2, 2008. And on Aug. 21 of that year, a federal unlawful flight to avoid prosecution warrant was issued by a U.S. district court.Said has been on the FBI’s 10 most wanted fugitives list since December 4, 2014. He was the 504th person to be placed on the list, which was established in March 1950.The search for Said was coordinated by the FBI’s Dallas Violent Crimes Task Force, which is composed of FBI special agents and officers from the Carrollton, Dallas, Garland, Grand Prairie, and Irving Police Departments and the Texas Department of Public Safety.Said is currently in federal custody and will soon be transferred to Dallas County.“His capture and arrest bring us one step closer to justice for Amina and Sarah,” said FBI Dallas Special Agent in Charge Matthew DeSarno.“Even after 12 years of frustration and dead ends, the pursuit for their killer never ceased,” said Irving Police Chief Jeff Spivey. “Today’s arrest of their father, Yaser Said brings us closer to ensuring justice is served on their behalf.” 1758

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A family is shaken after a man attacked and tied them up inside their home so he could rob them.Jason Hance, 34, is charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of robbery, four counts of armed criminal action and a single count of burglary.The Shults family remains baffled over what Hance did to them Monday night.Police said the man from Russell, New York broke into the Shults's house through a basement window, went upstairs and right into Trina's path. "He grabbed my hand with a knife in it and told me to shut the f*** up and come with him," Trina Shults told Kansas City-based KSHB on Wednesday. She said Hance dragged her around the house while her husband, Eric, was walking the dog. "He put me in a chair and he put my own apron — a jean fabric apron — over my head and then tied my own hairdryer around my neck," Trina Shults said.When Eric walked in, he thought someone was playing a cruel joke.  "And then when I found he was serious I was like, 'What the heck?' So, of course, my wife says, 'Honey, do what he says, do what he says,'" Eric Shults said. He said Hance threw a blanket over his head and tied his legs to a chair using a mop cord, then went on to ransack their home. "Every cabinet, every door in my home for an hour and a half," Trina Shults said.They told KSHB the suspect said he was looking to sell their items to get money for a hotel room and for his 14-month-old daughter with a heart condition. As to why he chose their particular house?"He was walking up the street, we have a Ford Escape, and he says, 'I saw the Escape. I wanted to escape from my problems. There's the house I need to target,'" Eric Shults said. As Hance was loading up the stolen goods into the Escape he encountered the Shults's son and niece. "He's like, 'I have your parents tied up inside if you go now you can save them.' And I said, 'Are you serious?' And he pulls a hammer and he's like, 'Yes, I'm serious. Drop your phone,'" said Austin Shults, the victims' son.Police traced one of the victim's cell phones to a motel off of Highway 40. Officers found Hance and several of the stolen items inside one of the rooms. Since the incident, the Shults have installed an alarm system. "Why is it that someone off the street feels compelled to come in into our home and take things that don't belong to them? Get a job. Go earn your own things. You're not entitled to mine," Trina Shults said.The suspect, Jason Hance, made his first appearance in court Wednesday afternoon. His bond is set at 0,000. Hance's next court date is set for April 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the Criminal Justice Center. 2748

(KGTV) - In Jamul, community members are banding together to help a family-owned farm decimated by the Valley Fire.Cheryl Skidmore, the owner of Hidden Haven Ranch, was on the phone with workers on site."Very, very smoky fire. Hit the ridge and then came down very fast," said Skidmore.Some animals were evacuated, but the damage was heavy at the 16-year-old farm known for sustainable farming.All 125 chickens were killed. Most of the crops were destroyed: half of the orchards, from apples to apricots, and all of the industrial hemp fields. The flames also burned a trailer and much of the farm equipment."Everything is just devastated. We have to start over," said Skidmore.Skidmore says she tried to get wildfire insurance but was denied, partly because she’s in a fire-prone area. The total loss was about 0,000. Shutting down the farm became very possible."It's overwhelming," said Skidmore.The word 'overwhelming' could also be used to describe the outpouring of support."The community has been donating hens. Hopefully, we will be doing egg production next month," said Skidmore.The farm asked for help and the community responded with dozens of volunteers at three cleanup efforts, including one on this day. Volunteers have done everything, from raking ash and trimming trees, to moving dirt and cleaning horse stalls. Jordyn Brewer is one of those volunteers."When I saw the pictures of the devastation, it made me upset. If I were in that situation, I would want people to help me," said Skidmore.Skidmore says that help will mean the difference between shutting down and keeping the farm going."No way I could have done this myself ... Just to see people so willing to help others, just makes me feel so good," said Skidmore.A lot of cleanup remains at the 52-acre farm. JAMUL (CNS) - A small plane landed in thick grass southeast of Jamul Casino in Jamul Wednesday night, but no one was injured.Deputies received a call of a downed plane about 7:50 p.m. off Campo Road, according to Lt. Glen Twyman of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The type of plane was not released.It was not immediately clear if the plane made an emergency landing or crashed, but neither occupant was injured.Fire crews remained on scene after the crash to prevent any of the nearby dry grass from catching on fire, Twyman said. 550

Kevin Daly is a fit 62-year-old man who has lived an athletic, healthy lifestyle. That was why it was strange when his stomach continued to grow, despite losing weight. According to WCBS-TV, Daly had to convince his insurance company that his growing stomach was not being caused by drinking suds. Daly convinced his insurance company to allow a CAT scan. The CAT scan had a shocking result. Daly had a 30-pound tumor in his abdominal cavity."I never drank beer,” he told WCBS. “Don’t like it, always been athletic, never had a belly.”Daly had the tumor surgically removed, but the procedure was lengthy, lasting six hours. According to WCBS, the tumor was a low-grade, fatty cancer that had wrapped around an organ. Daly's doctor said that a kidney also had to be removed to ensure the tumor was completely removed. Because the tumor was slow growing, he will not need any sort of radiation or chemotherapy treatment. Daly will continue to be monitored with MRIs as a precautiion.  1035
