A 36-year-old mother of 4 is dead after stopping along a highway in Kentucky to help another crash victim.Ana Kincart was killed Monday morning when she was struck by an oncoming car. Kincart’s stepfather, Andy Cline, remembers her as someone who would help anyone with anything they needed.“Bodacious,” he said. “Yeah, she was bubbly. Happy. Just, I guess the life of a party, almost.”Kincart witnessed a crash on I-275. Investigators say Brandon Hicks, 24, lost control of his Chevy Camaro and spun out. Kincart, a nurse at the Lawrenceburg VA for 12 years, sent a picture of the crash to her employer along with this message:"Going to stay here to help comfort the individual in the car crash. To give a statement to police." 736

(KGTV) - The world's oldest message in a bottle was discovered half-buried at a West Australian beach nearly 132 years since it was written. The Western Australian Museum confirmed Tuesday that the message is dated June 12, 1886 — dating back more than 48,000 days. The old gin bottle was jettisoned from the Germain sailing barque "Paula," according to the museum."It just looked like a lovely old bottle so I picked it up thinking it might look good in my bookcase. My son’s girlfriend was the one who discovered the note when she went to tip the sand out," Tonya Illman, the woman who discovered the bottle told the museum. "The note was damp, rolled tightly and wrapped with string. We took it home and dried it out, and when we opened it we saw it was a printed form, in German, with very faint German handwriting on it."RELATED: Billionaire explorer discovers sunken US WWII aircraft carrierIllman's husband then spent time researching the message before discover just how far back it dated.According to the museum, the bottles were part of an experiment by what was known as "Deutsche Seewarte," or German Naval Observatory. For 69 years, thousands of bottle were tossed overboard German ships studying ocean currents. The notes, which contained dates and coordinates, would instruct whoever finds the bottle to write back when and where they located the note to help researchers build data on currents. In total, the museum says 663 bottles as part of the experiment have been discovered.RELATED: Unprecedented 7,000-year-old Native American burial site found in FloridaThe Illmans have loaned the bottle to the museum to put on display. The previous record for oldest message in a bottle was 108 years, four months, and 18 days. 1788

(KGTV) - San Diego Congresswoman Susan Davis authored legislation that she believes would have a positive impact for military families who are struggling financially.H.R. 1078, called the Military Hunger Prevention Act, would make troops and their families eligible for food supplement benefits. Many families are not currently eligible for the assistance because their Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) is counted as income when determining eligibility for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). “Military families making great sacrifices in service of our country should not be struggling to put food on the table. I continue to work with my colleagues in Congress and push for the enactment of the Military Hunger Prevention Act. This bipartisan, common sense solution will ensure that we properly care for our men and women in uniform and their families,” said Rep. Davis.RELATED: Making It in San Diego: Military Hunger, a hidden epidemicIn May, Rep. Davis also opposed a GOP Farm Bill, saying it cut billion from SNAP.H.R. 1078 was also supported by Reps. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS), Jim McGovern (D-MA), Don Young (R-AK), and Tim Walz (D-MN) as cosponsors of the legislation. 1212

(KGTV) - You can leave the lights of San Diego behind at dark places that are prime for viewing meteor showers.Want to go stargazing? Try these San Diego County locations for the best viewing experience: Jess Martin Park (Julian): Head up to Julian to catch the meteor shower. Blair Valley Campground (Anza-Borrego): There's really no bad spot in Anza-Borrego for stargazing. Its distance from San Diego makes it prime for some great viewing. Palomar Observatory: Palomar Mountain is the site of an observatory, so there's no wonder why the area is great for catching the stars. Laguna Campground: Mount Laguna has long been an area for camping and an escape from the city for San Diegans. While the Mount Laguna Observatory has the power to look deep into the galaxy, you'll have to bring your own gear at the campground to view the dark skies. Torrey Pines State Reserve: Torrey Pines State Reserve can provide some surprising star gazing despite being as close to highways as it is. The glider port has been a spot for those who don't want to make the hours-long trek east. Blue Sky Ecological Reserve: Poway's Blue Sky park is a great spot close to the county and away from too many bright lights for star gazing. Fleet Science Center (Balboa Park): Yes, Balboa Park is close to the city lights, but with some telescopic power, you can still catch some great sights like planets and bright stars. Mt. Helix Park: Mount Helix is another good option for those not wanting to drive too far away. Otay Lakes County Park: Otay Lakes park is another close option where local star gazers have had success staring into the night sky. Soledad Mountain: Another option close to home. Set your gaze or telescope in the right direction and Soledad Mountain is a great spot to star gaze. San Elijo Park: Head up to North County and catch some star-gazing at San Elijo Park. Assuming the park lights are turned down, you'll be able to catch some of the celestial sights. 1968
