(SAN DIEGO) -- If you like hitting the gas pedal when someone is merging into your lane, or you brake hard to send an angry message to the driver behind you, or you like to weave in and out of lanes at high speeds, then congrats: You helped San Diego make the list of the saltiest drivers in the United States.GasBuddy revealed the top 10 cities with the most aggressive drivers, studying behavior like speeding, hard braking or accelerating. The company compiled data from its Drives feature in the GasBuddy app, examining the top 30 metropolitan areas by population from Nov. 2018 to Feb. 2019, noting the frequency of an aggressive driving event. The data shows that no other city has a bigger need for speed than San Diego. According to Gas Buddy, San Diego drivers have 62% more speeding incidents than average US driver, followed by Orlando and Detroit. Los Angeles was 16th on the list. And, when it comes to being aggressive, San Diego ranked 6th in the country behind number one Los Angeles followed by Philadelphia, Sacramento, Atlanta, and San Francisco.“Frustration while driving in densely populated cities with high levels of congestion leads motorists to drive more aggressively and with more urgency. Interestingly, these are areas that typically see some of the highest gas prices in their respective states,” said Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.ROAD RAGE FRIDAYS If you enjoy the slow lane or don’t feel the need to protect your lane by accelerating rapidly, then Wednesdays are for you. Hump Day sees 6% fewer aggressive driving events occurring compared to the average across the United States. On the other hand, if you're trying to avoid road rage, Fridays are the worst days to be on the streets.“The most aggressive day on the road is Friday, with 14% more aggressive driving events occurring compared to the average across the United States,” the report said.If being an aggressive driver doesn’t get you or someone else killed, then consider that road rage will drain your wallet costing some bad motorists hundreds of dollars.“Frustrated drivers can get agitated quickly, and their aggressive driving habits like speeding, rapid acceleration and braking can lower gas mileage by as much as 40 percent, costing them as much as 7 per year in additional fuel consumption,” the report said.READ THE FULL STUDY HERE 2370

(KGTV) - Suspected drug smugglers were rescued by U.S. Coast Guard crews this month after their vessel erupted into flames before sinking.Crews from the Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations (AMO), the U.S. Navy ship USS Zephyr, and the Colombian Navy ship ARC "07 de Agosto" detected the high-speed vessel on April 7 in the eastern Pacific Ocean. As crews prepared to intercept the vessel, the suspected smugglers allegedly began abandoning their cargo and jumped from the boat as it caught fire.Crews rescued four suspected smugglers and spent 90 minutes extinguishing the flames."There was no doubt in our minds what needed to be done to salvage the evidence needed for a successful prosecution even if it meant laying Zephyr alongside a burning hull, with the intense heat and acrid smoke hindering our 90-minute firefight," Lt. Cmdr. Grant Greenwell, the commanding officer of the Zephyr, said. After putting out the fire, crews say they recovered about 1,080 pounds of cocaine. The four suspected smugglers were transferred to custody aboard the Zephyr. The suspected drug vessel was severely damaged and sunk as it was a hazard to navigation. 1195

(KGTV) — The cities of La Mesa and Santee have enacted curfews through much of this week over concerns of possible unrest.La Mesa's curfew begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 5:30 a.m. the following day for each day from Tuesday to Sunday morning. The City of La Mesa says in a release that, "due to conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property that have arisen within the City of La Mesa as a result of rioting and looting related to a police protest on May 30, 2020, the City of La Mesa Director of Emergency and Disaster proclaimed the existence of a local emergency within the City on May 31st, 2020."RELATED: 2 people arrested, accused of pointing gun at group gathered in SanteeSantee's curfew was set to start at 7 p.m. until the following day at 6 a.m. each day from Tuesday to Saturday morning. This curfew applies to the portions of Santee located to the south of Mast Boulevard (including all of Mast Boulevard), east of Carlton Hills Boulevard (including all of Carlton Hills Boulevard), west of Magnolia Avenue (including all of Magnolia Avenue itself) and north ofBoulevard), west of Magnolia Avenue (including all of Magnolia Avenue itself) and north of Highway 52.Santee leaders said, "for the past four evenings, large gatherings have occurred in the City of Santee, which have created threats to public safety and property and are in violation of current public health orders. Based on credible information, the City believes these large gatherings will continue to occur. The extension of the curfew will help in keeping the community of Santee safe while protecting our residents and local businesses."Monday night, San Diego Sheriff's Department says that two people were arrested after allegedly pointing a gun at a group of people gathered at the intersection of Cuyamaca Street and Mission Gorge Road.SDSO said a woman pointed a handgun at the group, before a traffic deputy spotted the reported vehicle and stopped the driver. Witnesses positively identified the woman in a curb-side lineup, and the woman and driver were both arrested after a semi-automatic weapon and two magazines were found in the vehicle, SDSO said.Poway, which had a curfew Sunday and Monday nights, had no plans for a curfew Tuesday night, Mayor Steve Vaus tweeted Wednesday. The cities has first enacted curfews after Saturday night saw instances of looting, rioting, and vandalism in La Mesa following demonstrations at La Mesa Police Department against police violence. 2490
