They seem to be in good health," Trump tweeted.He added that Pompeo had a "good meeting" with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and said a "date & place set" for a meeting between the two leaders.The President said Pompeo and his "guests" will be arriving at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland at 2 a.m. ET, presumably Thursday, where he will greet them.The Americans, Kim Dong Chul, Kim Hak-song and Kim Sang Duk, also known as Tony Kim, have been held in North Korea for months.While Kim Dong Chul has been in North Korean custody since before Trump was elected, the other two detainees were arrested last spring, after Trump's inauguration and as tensions between Washington and Pyongyang were beginning to ramp up.Tony Kim and Kim Hak-song, who were arrested in April and May of 2017, respectively, were both accused of carrying out "hostile acts" against the Kim Jong Un regime. Both worked at the Pyongyang University of Science and Technology, which bills itself as the only privately run university in the North Korean capital.The family members of the two educators have said their loved ones are innocent. Shortly after Kim Hak-song was detained, his wife said in an interview with CNN that her husband is an agricultural expert and was teaching rice-growing at the university, trying to help North Koreans feed themselves.Kim Dong Chul was arrested in 2015 for spying on behalf of South Korea, he told CNN in January 2016. President Donald Trump has issued pardons to a number of his supporters, most notably former campaign adviser George Papadopoulos and Representatives Chris Collins and Duncan Hunter.Papadopoulos was among the first to be criminally charged in Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. Papadopoulos pleaded guilty in connection to lying to officials over his contact with the Russian government while working as a Trump campaign adviser.Papadopoulos was sentenced to 14 days in prison.The Trump administration claims that the pardon “correct the wrong that Mueller’s team inflicted on so many people.”Collins resigned his seat in Congress last year after he pleaded guilty to insider trading and lying to law enforcement. He was serving a 26-month sentence.Hunter was set to go to prison next month after he pleaded guilty to misusing campaign funds. Hunter was to serve an 11-month sentence.Alex van der Zwaan, who was sentenced for 30 days for lying to federal authorities, was among those pardoned. He was the first person convicted from Mueller's investigation. Also among the pardons were Nicholas Slatten, Paul Slough, Evan Liberty, and Dustin Heard. According to reports, the four men were convicted in killing 14 civilians in Baghdad during the war in Iraq. Slatten faced a life sentence, while the other three were handed 30-year sentences for the deaths. In all, Trump issued 15 full pardons and commuted all or part of five additional people. 1498

President Donald Trump on Friday nixed plans for Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to travel to North Korea to hold a next round of denuclearization talks, citing insufficient progress on the issue."I have asked Secretary of State Mike Pompeo not to go to North Korea, at this time, because I feel we are not making sufficient progress with respect to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," Trump tweeted on Friday.
