The apps include Postmates, Uber Eats, Door Dash and Eat 24.All four apps have slight differences when it comes to restaurants, fees and how easy they are to use. Not every app has the same restaurants on them, so you might have to use an app that has the restaurant of your liking.Door Dash was the simplest app to use because there weren’t that many choices or suggestions to help you choose what to eat.Eat 24, like many of the other apps offered food categories like American, Asian and Mexican to help you narrow down your choices.We found when placing your order on each app you had to add your credit card and address, but for Uber Eats you did not. If you have an Uber Ride Share account, it's automatically synced up to that app. It cut the ordering time in half if you were a new user.Although we used Postmates for ordering food, we learned you can use the app for ordering anything. Some use Postmates to order clothes to be picked up or getting an item from the drug store delivered to their house.No matter which app you use there’s a place to save money by adding a promo code. But, you’ll need to watch out for hidden service fees outside of the usual delivery and tax fee.A great feature all the apps have are alerts or push notifications letting you know where your food is and when it will be delivered.Almost every app delivered the food we ordered 10 minutes earlier than their estimated arrival time. CHICAGO (AP) — A Cook County judge has shot down actor Jussie Smollett's attempt to have the criminal charges against him dropped. In a ruling issued Friday, Judge James Linn rejected the argument made by the actor's attorneys that the new charges filed after the original charges were dropped violates Smollett's right against double jeopardy. Linn found that double jeopardy does not apply because Smollett has never been criminally punished.In January 2019, Smollett told Chicago police that he was the victim of an anti-gay and racist attack but he was charged after police concluded that he allegedly staged the attack himself. 640

CALEXICO (CNS) - The federal government today broke ground on the first border wall replacement project awarded under President Donald Trump.Customs and Border Protection is replacing a 2.25-mile section of border fencing constructed in the 1990s using scrap metal with a 30-foot-high bollard-style wall just south of downtown Calexico. The project covers an area west of the Calexico West Port of Entry, according to the agency.This project ``is one of Border Patrol's highest priority projects,'' according to a CBP statement ``Although the existing wall has proven effective at deterring unlawful cross-border activity, smuggling organizations damaged and breached this outdated version of a border wall several hundred times during the last two years, resulting in costly repairs.'' 794

CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. -- There were no survivors from a plane crash Thursday night in Carroll County, according to Indiana State Police. The Cessna 441 went down around 7:30 p.m. local time in a field near Carroll County Roads 500 West and 600 South, just north of Rossville.The plane took off from Eagle Creek Airport in Indianapolis at 7:21 p.m., according to flight records. It was headed to Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay, Wisconsin.At 7:39 p.m., data shows that the plane was between 18,000 feet and 28,000 feet when it disappeared off radar, sources told Scripps station WRTV in Indianapolis. Shortly after, multiple people called 911 in Carroll County, reporting a plane down. People who live in the area who heard the crash say it sounded like thunder.First responders had trouble finding the wreckage at first because it was so dark and far back in a field. They eventually used ATVs and other off-road vehicles to access the area. WRTV learned that there were at least three people on board.There is no word on what caused the plane to go down. Officials with the FAA and NTSB are expected to arrive on the scene Friday morning to begin their investigation.  1275

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (KGTV) — One man was killed early Thursday after his vehicle overturned and he was thrown from the vehicle in the North County.The crash occurred just before 5 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5, south of Basilone Rd., according to California Highway Patrol. CHP believes the 40-year-old driver of a Toyota 4-Runner was traveling southbound when for unknown reasons, he left the roadway. The vehicle overturned and the man was thrown from the SUV.CHP, Camp Pendleton Fire Department, and North County Transit District responded to the scene, but the man died at the scene. He was not immediately identified.Investigators said they don't believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, and are still looking into the crash. 755
