NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) -- Three people were injured after a car slammed into a National City restaurant Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened on the 1000 block of Highland Avenue in National City at the Pho 7 Cow restaurant around 2 p.m.An employee of a nearby jewelry store said scene was chaotic, describing the vehicle as going all the way into the building. RELATED: Driver crashes car into National City bar The owner of the restaurant says two customers and an employee were injured in the crash. Their condition is unknown at this time, but a witness said they didn’t appear serious. Roughly 20 people were eating lunch when the car crashed into the front of the restaurant, according to the owner. Surveillance video from inside the restaurant shows the car plow through the front and into a large aquarium near the door. 10News learned all of the fish inside the aquarium died.The owner said the woman driving the car may have accidentally pushed the gas instead of the brake. Inspectors from the city and fire department arrived shortly after the crash to check out the building. The owner was told the structure is sound. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man police say rammed a patrol vehicle while holding a gun prompted an officer-involved shooting in North Park Saturday. The incident began around 9:20 p.m. when police received a call about a carjacking near Maryland Street and Madison Avenue. According to San Diego Police, the victim’s property, including a 2019 Subaru Outback, was taken at gunpoint. When officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver, a 17-year-old boy, fled the scene, leading police on a chase. The pursuit ended when the suspect drove off the road at Arizona Street and Howard Avenue before putting the car in reverse and driving toward officers. While backing up, police say the 17-year-old slouched down in the driver’s seat, pointing a handgun at police and prompting an officer to fire his weapon at the suspect. The man continued to back up, slamming into a patrol car, police say. No officers were injured. At this time, the suspect isn’t being identified due to his age. The officers also aren’t being identified, but police say the first officer involved in the shooting is a one-year veteran of the department while the second is a two-year veteran. 1749

Experts say next year's game-changing trend in sustainable consumer goods may be plant-based -- or "vegan" -- athletic shoes.Last week, Reebok, owned by Adidas since 2005, unveiled the design for its first plant-based running shoe, the Floatride GROW, which is expected to hit store shelves in the fall of 2020.The upper part of the shoe is made primarily from eucalyptus. Its soles are made from castor beans and natural rubber. The scheduled debut comes two years after Reebok started selling a "vegan" version of its famed Newport (NP) Classic shoes made with cotton and corn. The more sustainable version of the NP Classics are "lifestyle" footwear not designed for athletic performance.In contrast, Reebok brand president Matt O'Toole says the Floatride GROW is sturdy enough to handle the wear and tear from intense and constant use by athletes."One of the challenges for the innovations team was [the Floatride GROW] had to be equal to or better to" the vegan NP Classics, O'Toole told CNN Business. "We actually have our own testing machines.
