BEIJING, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese leaders and people Wednesday bade farewell to eight peacekeeping police officers who were killed in the 7.3-magnitude earthquake in Haiti last week.Top leaders Hu Jintao, Wu Bangguo, Wen Jiabao, Jia Qinglin, Li Changchun, Xi Jinping, Li Keqiang, He Guoqiang and Zhou Yongkang joined thousands of members of the public at the ceremony held at the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery in western Beijing.People were standing in long lines outside the ceremony hall in the winter chill, waiting to pay tribute to the peacekeepers who were posthumously honored Tuesday by the government as "martyrs." The coffins of the eight peacekeeping police officers draped in Chinese national flags are laid at the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery in Beijing, China, Jan. 20, 2010.
