TOKYO, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda met on Thursday with 10 representatives of Chinese students studying in Japan, delivering friendly messages before the upcoming visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao to Japan.     "We warmly welcome President Hu to Japan," said Fukuda in the talks with the Chinese students at his residence.     He said that despite some problems in bilateral ties, he hoped that the Chinese students will, under whatever circumstances, recognize the importance of Japan-China relations and strive for their development.     China is a major power in the world, and the performance of a major power has direct bearing on world stability, said the Japanese prime minister, adding that Japan hopes to foster a relationship with China that helps make joint efforts for world stability. BEIJING, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- President Hu Jintao and other Chinese leaders including top legislator Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao on Tuesday visited an exhibition which pays tribute to victims of the May earthquake in Sichuan Province and the nation's concerted efforts to assist the disaster-stricken areas.     Photos and videos showing the aftermath of the catastrophic earthquake, as well as items that were used to rescue victims drew attentions of the leaders.     They were also briefed on how the people from all walks of life had made donations and contributions to help the earthquake-stricken areas recover from the country's worst disaster in the past 30 years. The quake, which has left more than 80,000 dead or missing, was the deadliest and strongest tremor to hit China since the 1976 Tangshan earthquake.

SARAJEVO, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- China and Bosnia pledged on Friday to strengthen cooperation between each other and push their relations to a higher level.     "China cherishes the traditional friendship with Bosnia, hopes to broaden political dialogues at different levels and deepen the exchange and cooperation in such fields as trade and lift the bilateral relations between the two countries to a higher level," visiting Chinese vice Premier Zhang Dejiang said.     Zhang made the comments in his meeting with rotating Chairman Haris Silajdzic of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Nebojsa Radmanovic, another member of the group made of three members.     "China regards Bosnia as a trust-worthy friend and partner, and we greatly appreciate Bosnia's stance on one-China policy and its support for China's great cause of peaceful unification with Taiwan," Zhang said.     Silajdzic congratulated China on successfully staging the 29th Beijing Olympic Games. He said that the opening ceremony of the games displayed Chinese long history and its splendid culture and it also showed China's desire for a harmonious world.
