A photo of a Las Vegas bus driver giving an elderly passenger a sip of water is grabbing attention on Reddit.The photo was posted by Brent Leabu in a subreddit titled "HumansBeingBros." He said that it happened on Monday on Bus 201 near Jones Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue.Leabu says that the bus driver took the water from his own lunch cooler. Although Las Vegas is no longer under an excessive heat warning, it is still very hot in the valley. Monday's high temperature was recorded as 104 degrees with some areas of the valley being hotter and some areas being a couple of degrees cooler.Earlier this month, the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) was handing out free bottled water at various Las Vegas bus stops. A social media post crediting a Nashville man for stepping in to comfort a flight passenger who was body-shamed has gained plenty of attention.Savannah Phillips wrote on Facebook about her experience after being called "a smelly fatty" on board a United flight from Oklahoma to Illinois on Monday. The mother said she always preferred to sit by herself in flights because she was self-conscious about her weight, and feared others would feel uncomfortable sitting next to her.A man she described to be in his 60s with yellow sunglasses who claimed to be a comedian sat next right next to her.Her post stated,"As soon as I got buckled, he sat back down...his phone was maybe 12 inches from my face and he proceeded to text someone that he was sitting next to a "smelly fatty." I don’t even know what the rest of his text said. I turned my head away as fast as I could. I was shocked and it was like confirmation of the negative things I think about myself on a daily basis. Before I knew it, I could feel hot, salty tears coming down my face."Phillips told Scripps station WTVF in Nashville she began to cry and even prayed for the man. Unbeknownst to her, another passenger sitting in the row behind them across the aisle also happened to see the message on his phone."He tapped him on the shoulder and said, 'I need to talk to you'" she recalled. "The guy took his earphones out and turned around and he said, 'We're switching seats right now.'" Phillips remembered the passenger saying he was not going to put up with what the man said. They eventually switched seats, and an unlikely and pleasant encounter ensued."When he sat down he saw me crying and asked why I was crying." Phillips said. "He said to not let it get to me and not to worry about it, and we started making small talk which made me feel better." She learned the passenger who helped comfort her was Chase Irwin, a father and manager at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row Nashville on Broadway.Phillips shared her experience on social media in hopes he would be recognized, and within half an hour, he acknowledged reading the post.Irwin emphasized to WTVF on the phone that he did not intervene for publicity. He described feeling infuriated once seeing the message from the man's phone after he further said he was going to vomit. "I was going to wait until the end of the flight to say something but I could not have this guy sit next to her this whole flight and her thinking he's making fun of her," Irwin said. "It really gets to me deep down when I see someone crying, and when I saw her crying it really hit me hard and actually got sick to my stomach.""I was so blessed and happy he was there," Phillips added. A non-profit organization announced its come up with a way to feed voters at several polling places across the nation for free on Election Day.World Central Kitchen kicked off their initiative last week with the announcement of its #ChefsforthePolls.They say people often cast their vote before work, during their lunch break, or after work, and those are the same time's people typically grab something to eat.And with long lines at polling stations, that could be the difference between voting and not voting, so they want to help make it a convenient experience for voters."WCK and our partners are activating #ChefsForThePolls to serve nourishing meals on early voting days and Election Day," the organization said on its website. "We'll be stationed by polling locations around the country, targeting those with historically long lines, predicted massive turnouts, or limited facilities, sharing meals with anyone – no questions asked. A prank gone wrong landed two men in jail and has potentially scarred a little girl for life.At about 10 p.m. local time on Saturday, 25-year-old Vernon Barrett was wearing a clown mask and chasing his 6-year-old daughter outside their apartment in Boardman, Ohio, according to Youngstown's WKBN-TV.According to witnesses, the girl, obviously terrified, was screaming and ran into the unlocked apartment of neighbor Dion Santiago, 48.According to WFMJ-TV, Santiago told police that when the girl ran in to his apartment, he looked out the window and saw a man in a clown mask on the lawn. Santiago then grabbed his gun and fired a warning shot out the window.When police arrived at the scene, Barrett told them he was "playing a prank" on his daughter, according to WFMJ.WKBN reported that Barrett told officers he was trying to scare the girl because she'd been having behavioral issues at school and he thought this would straighten her out.Barrett was arrested for child endangering and inducing panic. A suburban Atlanta police officer resigned after his department said he used foul language and inappropriate tactics during the arrest of a 65-year-old grandmother during a traffic stop, recorded on a police dashboard camera.Alpharetta Officer James Legg had been called in as backup during a May 4 traffic stop because the Lyft driver would not sign a ticket and refused another officer's order to get out of her car, officials said.In a letter to Alpharetta Public Safety Director John Robison released Friday, Legg said he felt he behaved appropriately and followed his training."I judged her actions to be passive resistance and used very limited force to end a multiple minute encounter with the suspect," he said.
