SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A Spirit Airlines flight leaving San Diego's airport was stopped on the runway Thursday when the plane had a hydraulic fluid leak at Lindbergh Field.The incident happened just after 9 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire Department. No smoke made its way into the cabin and no fire was reported. Crews towed the aircraft back to its terminal.No injuries were reported. Spirit Airlines spokesman Stephen Schuler issued a statement just after noon which reads, "Spirit Airlines flight 359 from San Diego to Las Vegas returned to the gate following a reported mechanical issue. The captain of another aircraft in line for takeoff reported smoke from the rear landing gear and fire officials responded accordingly. The aircraft was towed to the gate, where our mechanics and FAA inspectors discovered it was nothing more than condensation. The plane is scheduled to take off shortly.  We apologize for any inconvenience to our guests."  995

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A U.S. Navy sailor from the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier was injured on his ship Friday.The sailor was struck by a towed aircraft on the flight deck around 6:30 p.m.A Navy news release reported the sailor was flown to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla for treatment. The sailor's injuries are not life-threatening.The USS Carl Vinson is conducting a training exercise off the coast of Southern California. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A water main break Monday forced San Diego firefighters to evacuate Point Loma neighbors due to a potential hillside collapse.The break happened about 2:30 p.m. on Larga Circle near Leland St. The residential area is just west of the Vons shopping center on Midway Drive.According to SDFD, 10 homes were evacuated due to the break. The broken water main is on a slope between homes at the top and bottom of the slope. At least one home had flooding to the garage.City engineers are being called to the scene. 545

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A woman was killed and two men were injured following a shooting at a Church's Chicken in Otay Mesa West Wednesday night. According to San Diego Police, the shooting of the three employees was reported at the restaurant in the 3700 block of Del Sol Boulevard just after 5:30 p.m. Police say a man in his 30s walked into the restaurant early in the evening. "The suspect got into a verbal argument with employees and left the restaurant. Surveillance video from a business across the street shows the suspect parking and re-parking his car several times between 4:40 p.m. and 5:22 p.m. At 4:53 p.m., video shows the suspect walking into the establishment before going back to his car at 5:08 p.m. The man re-parked his car at 5:22 p.m. before walking into the restaurant a final time at 5:27, when the shooting took place. At 5: 30 p.m., video shows the suspect walking to his car before driving away with his lights off. Minutes later, at 5:34 p.m., a San Diego Police vehicle arrived at the Church's Chicken.
