A former business manager for late Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee was arrested Saturday in Arizona on charges including elder abuse, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.Keya Morgan faces felony charges of false imprisonment and grand theft from an elder and a misdemeanor charge of elder abuse, police said in a news release.A warrant had been issued for Morgan's arrest earlier this month following an elder abuse estate investigation that began in March 2018.Bail has been set at 0,000 and Morgan is expected to be extradicted to Los Angeles, police said.CNN has reached out to an attorney for Morgan.Among other things, Morgan is accused of collecting money from business transactions -- like autograph signing sessions in May 2018 that totaled more than 2,000 -- and not transferring the money to Lee.Lee died in November 2018 at age 95.His estate was worth more than million, but no one had clear authority to act on Lee's behalf, police said."Morgan exerted his control and influence over Lee," police said in the news release.Morgan also is accused of falsely imprisoning Lee when he took Lee from his Hollywood Hills home to what police described as a "secured Beverly Hills condominium" in the late night hours in June 2018.Police said Lee was "removed from Morgan's control" later that month when he was arrested by LAPD for making fake 911 calls in May 2018. Police said Morgan made the calls in order to make Lee believe he was in danger.Lee had a restraining order against Morgan Morgan reportedly became close to Lee after the death of his wife, Joan Lee, in 2017.Before his death, Lee was granted a temporary restraining order against Morgan that banned him from abusing, harassing or contacting Lee and required him to stay at least 100 yards away from him.At the time, Morgan denied the allegations."I have taken great care of Stan Lee for the past many years, and have never had a problem directly with Stan. I have a fantastic relationship with him for the past many years as he has stated countless times on the record and I literally saved his life once," Morgan told TMZ in June 2018. The land of the free gained almost 200 new members this week in Colorado, and to say they’re excited to become new US citizens is an understatement. “It’s been a lifelong dream to become a US citizen, and it just happened,” said Katrin Redford, a new US citizen originally from Germany. “I want to get a better life here,” said Samuel Rodriguez, who came to the US from MexicoShang Wu came to the US more than 40 years ago and is finally getting his citizenship. “It feels great. It’s honored and it’s the right thing to do for me,” he said. Their excitement is a reward after what can be a long, grueling process. Some people think it takes a little too long. “We’re seeing processing times that are published by US CIS online for the Denver field office in terms of 10 and half to 22 and a half months,” said Jennifer Kain-Rios. Kain-Rios is an immigration attorney. She says processing delays are a problem and it’s been getting worse. “Over the course of the past couple years, we have definitely seen naturalization applications taking much longer than they had in the past,” said Kain-Rios. The US Commission on Civil Rights recently discovered the same thing. “The report is intended to just bring attention to this issue. Our hope is that the US Commission on Civil Rights will be able share it with Congress and other stake holders to ensure that the issue can be addressed adequately,” said Alvina Earnhart US Commission on Civil Rights, Colorado Advisory Committee. Earnhart sits on the Commission’s Colorado Advisory Committee. She says the application processing delays are more than just an inconvenience. They’re affecting people’s rights. “When we held the hearing in February, one of the panelists pointed out if an individual did not submit an application by March of this year, that there was no chance that they would be able to participate in 2020 election,” said Earnhart. As for why there’s a backlog, there’s no simple answer. The commission’s report found a handful of possible reasons that include changing policies and inadequate resources. The USCIS says the problem is simply an increase in applications. “Processing times impact people in very real ways. I think the most significant concern for many people is a desire to be able to vote,” said Kain-Rios. That desire is so strong, people were registering to vote the second the citizenship ceremony was over. “It is very important to participate, in every country you know, not just here,” said Rodriguez. US Citizen and Immigration Services, which handles citizenship applications, says they’ve brought those long wait times down. “Well the average after this month, will be just under seven months and we do have some number of outlier applications that take longer, but one the average, we’re about seven months,” said Kristie Goldinger, the Colorado District Director with US Citizenship and Immigration Services. Aiello's mother said that her daughter felt survivor's guilt and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder following the events of Feb. 14, 2018.Aiello's mom said her daughter struggled to attend college classes because she was afraid of being in a classroom and was sad — but never asked for help before she killed herself.Now, Aiello's mother hopes her story can help save others."It breaks my heart that we've lost yet another student from Stoneman Douglas," Ryan Petty said.Petty's daughter Alaina died in the shooting. Since the Parkland tragedy, he's focused his efforts on suicide prevention, worried that traumatized might take their own lives.Petty says communication is key when dealing with loved ones who may be considering suicide — asking them directly if they've had suicidal thoughts or have thought about acting on them."My advice to parents is to ask questions, don't be afraid.
