A firefighter who died on September 11 was laid to rest Tuesday after his remains were identified 18 years later.Firefighters and loved ones gathered to mourn Michael Haub after his remains were conclusively identified, the Uniformed Firefighters Association said in a statement. It said the service was to provide his family with closure and a peace of mind after the medical examiner last week identified more of his remains that were recovered at Ground Zero.As of July this year, the remains of only about 60% of the 2,753 people killed at the World Trade Center that day have been positively identified, according to the medical examiner's office.Haub was a 13-year veteran of Ladder Company 4, according to the association."We remember him and the 342 other firefighters who perished that fateful day, and will be forever grateful for the courage they show," it said in a statement Tuesday.In addition to the firefighters killed that day, hundreds more have died in the following years. Tim Walz and other state leaders addressed the public safety concerns the Twin Cities are facing as protesters take to the streets demanding justice for Floyd’s death. “We have to restore order to our society before we can address the issues,” said Walz.Watch the press conference below: Floyd was arrested Monday after a grocery store employee called the police to report someone trying to pass a counterfeit bill. A 10-minute video of Floyd’s arrest soon circulated online. The video shot by a bystander shows a Minneapolis police officer pressing his knee on Floyd’s neck while the man gasps for air with his face against the pavement. Floyd then lost consciousness and was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Four officers involved in Floyd’s death were fired Tuesday by the Minneapolis Police Department. And on Friday, the former officer who knelt on Floyd's neck was charged with murder and manslaughter. A 73-year-old hiker was rescued Saturday after spending seven days in the wilderness, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Edmo Luna said.Eugene Jo went missing June 22 after becoming separated from a hiking group near Mount Waterman in the San Gabriel Mountains of the Angeles National Forest, according to a Twitter post from the Montrose Search and Rescue Team.Jo was discovered Saturday morning around 11 a.m. Pacific time, according to the search and rescue team.
