The backlash has probably hurt the sale of rifles Dick's continued to sell. As a test, Dick's last fall stopped selling all hunting gear, including guns, in 10 stores. "Those stores outperformed the balance of the chain pretty meaningfully," Stack said.Earlier this year, the company pulled the hunting business out of another 125 stores, leaving sales in about 600 stores. The company said it would study the impact on overall store sales at those 125 stores and complete its review by August. Mortimer is a climber and the co-founder of Sender Films, the company that produced “The Dawn Wall.” Mortimer and his team followed two men as they attempted to climb a 3,000-foot rock face in Yosemite National Park. The film captured the climbers’ journey from hanging from the wall to even sleeping on the wall. “We knew if they did it, we had to be there,” Mortimer says. “But we also said, for seven years really, were like this is probably never going to happen, but it's worth the risk.” It took the climbers seven years to finally make it. Mortimer and his team were there to capture the moment. Then, the film received more awards than Mortimer ever imagined. One film led to another, and as the climbing industry grew, so did Sender Films. The company has produced more than 40 hours of climbing films, winning two Emmys and putting on a film tour with more than 400 shows around the world. “I thought rock climbing was something that was just a little a little hobby at the time, and I’m just still surprised what it's become,” says Zachary Barr, a director with Sender Films. DENVER — A Muslim civil rights organization is calling for an investigation after they say a Muslim-American woman was told to remove her hijab in order to enter a local arena.The Colorado chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) says Gazella Bensreiti was told by an employee at the Pepsi Center that she needed to remove her headscarf in order to be allowed into the arena.Bensreiti, a mother of three, was trying to enter the arena to watch her daughter perform the national anthem. An employee at Will Call allegedly told her "take that thing off" or not be allowed entrance, according to CAIR officials.When Bensreiti asked if she could remove her hijab in private and in front of a woman, but the employee allegedly refused. CAIR then says she was "subjected to public humiliation in front of staff, students and other parents, until her daughter became distraught, believing her mom would not be allowed in to see her perform."
