The BlackBerry phone, which many of us probably thought was a thing of the past, is officially coming back.OnwardMobility announced on Wednesday that the phone would be manufactured by FIH Mobile, which is a subsidiary of Foxconn Technology.“Enterprise professionals are eager for secure 5G devices that enable productivity, without sacrificing the user experience,” said Peter Franklin, CEO of OnwardMobility in a press release. “BlackBerry smartphones are known for protecting communications, privacy, and data. TAMPA BAY, Fla. -- Researchers are working to develop and test a tool to help COVID-19 responders in mental distress.The project was one of 14 at the University of South Florida to receive funding.“The key idea is developing this thing that will interact between people in need and all the resources that exist, it will be that go-between,” said assistant professor Jerome Galea.The researchers said they plan to create a prototype of a chatbot to help break down barriers to access to mental health care. Through things like text or social media messaging, the Tampa Bay Area Treatment & Health Advisor (TABATHA), will help screen the level of mental distress in responders and their service preferences.“This chatbot will integrate screening and basically referral into one product. And why that’s so important is people are going to be at different levels in terms of stigma surrounding care-seeking and also their readiness to engage with care,” said assistant professor Kristin Kosyluk.They’re partnering with other community organizations, including the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.“We know first responders. They’re the first out the door but they’re the last to ask for help,” said the center’s CEO and president, Clara Reynolds.Reynolds said in the past six months, the center has handled more than 9,000 calls related to COVID-19, though received fewer calls from first responders than expected.“We know this is just gonna be the tip of the iceberg that that behavioral health tsunami is coming from multiple areas,” Reynolds said. “If a device like a chatbot can be developed and proved to be effective to help those at least be able to start to navigate the behavioral health system I just think it’s gonna be an amazing tool.”“It’s increasing a lot of the frustrations people are having with limitations on PPE and limitations on people congregating and everything else. They’re not able to have those fun events outside of work, where they can release and let that stress go. And everything compounds daily because of their call volume increasing because of the pandemic,” said St. Petersburg Fire Rescue training Lt. Rob Neuberger.He explained the burden is also intensified for peer support team members who have lost some human connection in checking in.“I think where social distancing has helped with everything with the pandemic, I really like to just call it physical distancing. TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — An upcoming rule change at the U.S. Department of Justice means federal inmate executions, which are currently carried out by lethal injection could happen by other means, such as a firing squad or electrocution.Currently, all federal executions are done via lethal injection unless a court specifically orders otherwise. The rule change gives the federal government greater flexibility to execute people by other means.The change states that federal executions are to be carried out by lethal injection “or by any other manner prescribed by the law of the State in which the sentence was imposed or which has been designated by a court.”According to the Death Penalty Information Center, all states that allow the death penalty authorize a lethal injection method. Nine states allow electrocution, seven allow lethal gas and three allow a firing squad. Most states that allow methods other than lethal injection do so only under the provision that the injection is found to be unconstitutional, unavailable or impractical.The DOJ rule change goes into effect on Dec. 24, before three more federal inmates are scheduled to be executed. Inmates are scheduled to be executed on Jan. 12, Jan. 14 and Jan. 15.If executions by other means will happen, it’s unlikely they will happen at the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Terre Haute, where federal executions typically take place. The DOJ notice states that the Terre Haute complex is equipped for carrying out executions only by lethal injection. TAMPA, Fla. -- A woman who visited Hamburger Mary's in Tampa is suing the establishment for .5 million after she says she was injured by a drag queen's breast while at dinner with friends in 2015.Neldin Molina says she was with friends and family at the restaurant for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday on May 30, 2015, according to the complaint. The suit says this was the first time Molina had ever visited the restaurant in Tampa. She claims when she entered the establishment, she didn't see any signs of any special events.She was eating her fish n' chips dinner at approximately 8:45 p.m. when she heard music and heard someone begin to speak and then the crowd cheered and clapped. She turned her chair around to see what was going on and saw a person dancing on the stage that was in the restaurant behind her to the left. She started watching and overheard another table say that the drag queen show was starting.At approximately 9:40 p.m., Molina turned around and saw performer Amanda D'Hod point at her and start to walk toward her table. Molina claims she immediately turned around to ignore the performance. A few minutes later, Molina felt someone touch her shoulders from behind her.According to the complaint, D'Hod walked in front of Molina and unexpectedly grabbed Molina's head and "wiggled her breast against the Plaintiff's face and head 8 times." D'Hod reportedly grabbed Molina's face and pushed it to the left and right before "violently pounding" it against D'Hod's chest "up to nine times." The complaint says Molina let a restaurant manager know that she was in "excruciating" pain and she was getting a headache and she filed a complaint. The manager told Molina he would notify and give the complaint to the owner who was not currently at the restaurant. Molina later went to the emergency room at Memorial Hospital of Tampa for "excruciating cervical pain and uncontrollable headaches."The manager called Molina weeks later and gave her Insurance information for her to follow up on the complaint. Molina is seeking .5 million for medical costs and expenses for the past, present and future, including the pain and suffering she physically and mentally endured. The complaint also states that Hamburger Mary's failed to advise anyone of the possible dangers while dining at the restaurant. 2431
