Marking the 55th anniversary of bilateral relations, Li and his Laotian counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith signed cooperation documents covering fields ranging from trade and investment to technology and education. The two countries also published a joint communique.

Li ordered special measures and policies to ensure demobilized soldiers are offered jobs, saying that Party and government agencies, state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and public institutions, especially centrally-administered SOEs, should employ more demobilized soldiers.
Bounnhang, for his part, praised Li's visit as a move to further consolidate the traditional friendship and inject new vigor into the China-Laos comprehensive strategic partnership.
