Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Leslie Earhart said Wednesday that the remains found Friday are those of Evelyn Mae Boswell. No other details were released. The bureau said earlier that the remains were found in Sullivan County on property belonging to a family member. Authorities have said she hadn't been seen since at least December. Evelyn's mother, 18-year-old Megan Boswell, was arrested Feb. 25 on a charge of filing a false report. Authorities said her inaccurate and conflicting statements had impeded the investigation.WATCH: We have a sad update to pass along in our ongoing search for answers in the death of 15-month-old Evelyn Boswell. As more and more people leave California, a local suburb in Nevada is flourishing. From 2013 to 2017, the Wall Street Journal reports that 56 percent of people who moved to Henderson came from neighboring California."They're getting houses that they could never afford in California," said Zar Zanganeh, "houses that are on golf courses."Zanganeh is the owner and broker of LUXE Estates & Lifestyles. He's personally witnessed the California migration. A decade ago, roughly a third of his clients were from California. Today, that number is closer to 70 percent.Zanganeh says Californians are cashing out the equity from their homes and buying a home in Nevada in cash.Outside of the Henderson DMV on Wednesday, 13 Action News spoke with several California transplants. The Robinson family has 13 children. They moved to the state because of the lower cost of living and employment opportunities. "It's (California) too expensive, and the crime rate is a little crazy," said Frances Robinson.Zanganeh says that every time a home sells in your community, the value of your home goes up. 1107
Beggars' night is celebrated nationwide by children who get dressed up in costumes to bring home lots of candy around Halloween. But when is the right time for young people to say "no thanks" to free candy? In one Virginia town, there was a long-standing law that prohibited anyone over the age of 12 from trick or treating. The town of Chesapeake, Virginia, announced recently that the law, which never was enforced, has been amended. The town changed the law to now allow children up to age 14 to trick or treat, and 15 year olds caught in the act of asking for free candy won't be thrown in jail. The town specifically says, "Chesapeake Police staff will focus on making sure the evening is safe for everyone, not actively seeking out violations of the time or age limits. For example, a 15-year-old safely trick or treating with a younger sibling is not going to have any issues."But what about in towns that do not have an ordinance? Take our poll: 967
