UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) – Detectives in Los Angeles are searching for more victims after they say a man exposed himself to a woman and juveniles at Universal Studios.Hershel Korngut, 34, was arrested after detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office say he exposed himself to a woman on the Universal CityWalk on January 1.Korngut was arrested on a misdemeanor charge, cited and released. Throughout their investigation, detectives found several other juvenile victims and, after searching Korngut’s home, found evidence of child pornography.Authorities say additional charges, including possession of child pornography, lewd and lascivious acts upon a child and sexual battery will be brought before a judge at Korngut’s upcoming court appearance.Detectives added that Korngut was employed at a hearing care facility and mentored at a youth organization in Los Angeles.Detectives are asking that any additional victims come forward by calling the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office at 818-622-9600 or providing an anonymous tip at 800-222-8477. 1072

Uber announced Thursday that it's introduced safety features in select markets, including a new emergency button.Denver is one of the cities where Uber is testing the new safety features. They're designed to keep riders connected if they need help, so even if they're riding alone, they're never really by themselves.Among the new features is an emergency button that connects users directly to a dispatcher. In some pilot cities, like Denver, once a rider presses the emergency button, their location and trip details will be automatically sent to the 911 dispatcher.There are other initiatives Uber is planning to roll out this summer across the country, and not just in pilot cities.In the "Safety Center," users can find tips from law enforcement, learn things like how Uber screens drivers, and insurance protections. "Trusted Contacts" allows riders to pick up to five friends and family members and share trip details with them during every ride. That way, they can follow you along and know when they've arrived.When it comes to drivers, Uber says it is also strengthening its screening process and will keep doing background checks on drivers every year. VALLEY CENTER (CNS) - A motorist was killed today when he crashed his car off a two-lane rural road northeast of Escondido while trying to pass another vehicle at high speed, authorities reported.The 35-year-old San Marcos resident lost control of his Acura TL while attempting to steer around a slower-moving Toyota Highlander on Valley Center Road near Rock Hill Ranch Road about 1:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.The Acura sideswiped the SUV, then skidded off the roadway and crashed into a power pole and a tree, killing the driver and sole occupant of the sedan, CHP public-affairs Officer Mark Latulippe said.The 35-year-old San Marcos woman behind the wheel of the Toyota was unharmed, as were the six young children riding in her vehicle, Latulippe said. 790

Twitter has suspended far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones from its platform for one week.The news was first shared by an InfoWars personality, who tweeted a screenshot of Jones' Twitter account -- indicating the company limited some of Jones' account features temporarily.A Twitter spokesperson confirmed the authenticity of the screenshot. The spokesperson said the content which prompted Twitter to suspend Jones was a video published Tuesday in which he said, "now is time to act on the enemy before they do a false flag."On Friday, one day after a CNN investigation found that Jones' Twitter accounts appeared to have repeatedly violated the company's rules, Twitter said the accounts belonging to Jones and his fringe media organization InfoWars would remain online.At the time, a Twitter spokesperson said the company concluded that of the more than a dozen tweets included in CNN's Thursday report, seven were found to have violated Twitter's rules. Twitter would have required those tweets to be deleted, if they were to have remained up.But after CNN's investigation was published, the tweets cited in it were almost immediately deleted from the social media website. Jones said on his program that he had instructed his staff to do so and "take the super high road," though he contested whether the tweets violated any Twitter rules.Twitter is one of the only major social media companies that has not scrubbed its platform of Jones or InfoWars. Recently, Jones has seen the vast majority of the social media infrastructure for his media empire crumble. (KGTV) — Police are asking for the public's help to locate a missing man who suffers from Alzheimer's disease.Police say 87-year-old Romy Castro disappeared from his South Escondido home off Brotherton Rd. sometime between the evening of Dec. 19 and Dec. 20. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt, tan jacket, black pants, and black moccasins. He also wears black eye glasses.Castro is described as having black and gray hair, brown eyes, stands about 5-foot 3-inches tall, and weighs 130 pounds.Anyone with information regarding Castro's wearabouts is asked to call Escondido Police at 760-839-4970. 714
