NEW DELHI, March 27 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and visiting Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu Saturday agreed that India and China should further their cooperation in all fields.During his meeting with Singh, Hui conveyed cordial greetings from Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to Singh. He also highly evaluated the Sino-Indian relations.Hui said that in recent years, China and India have maintained comprehensive and fast growing momentum of their relations, which he said is the result of high degree attention paid by and personal efforts, made by the leaders of the two countries, as well as that of sustained efforts which have been made by the two countries for many years.He said that the Chinese government always look at and make decision on Sino-Indian relations from a strategic height and a long-term perspective, and has been committed to further deepening Sino-Indian strategic partnership of cooperation.Hui said that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India, at a time when Sino-Indian relations stay at a new historical start point and face rare opportunities of development.He said that China is willing to make common efforts with India in strengthening concrete cooperation in all fields and expanding the merging point common interests of the two countries, in order to instill new meaning and stimulus to the Sino-Indian strategic cooperative relations which are oriented towards peace and prosperity.Indian Prime Minister Singh asked Hui to convey his cordial greetings to Premier Wen Jiabao.He said that Indo-Chinese strategic cooperative partnership has taken on a global significance, and it conforms not only with the interests of development of the two countries, but also would contribute to peace and prosperity of Asia and the world at large.Singh said that the Indian government will join hands with the Chinese government in pushing forward exchanges and cooperation between the two countries at all levels and in all fields, to make more fruitful such a cooperation.

LUANDA, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos on Friday held talks with visiting Chief of the General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Chen Bingde, officials with the military delegation told Xinhua.Welcoming Chen to visit Angola, President dos Santos said the two countries enjoyed friendly ties and Angola appreciated China's assistance to the Angolan people and armed force.The president said Angola attached importance to cooperation with China in various fields, and hoped to build up a sound and working mechanism on staff training and infrastructure construction to promote military ties between the two countries.Chen extended best wishes and cordial greetings from Chinese President Hu Jintao, and he stressed the friendly cooperation between China and Angola fell in line with the common interests of the two peoples, and also contributed to peace and stability in the world community.He said, military cooperation, as part of overall cooperation between China and Angola, has been developing smoothly, and the Chinese military was ready to promote friendly cooperation with the Angola armed forces under the new international circumstances.Chen arrived in Luanda on Wednesday for a three-day visit on the second leg of his three-nation tour on the African continent. He flew in Luanda from Namibia and was also expected to leave for Tanzania on Saturday. BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- As a bilateral agreement, the Japan-U.S. Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security should not harm the interests of China and other third parities, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu here Friday.Ma made the remarks in response to a question about Japan's latest claim over the Diaoyu Islands in a news report.According to the report, Japan said on Thursday the Diaoyu Islands were a part of Japan and the U.S. would be obligated according to the treaty to engage in military conflicts between China and Japan over the island should they occur.Ma said China has indisputable sovereignty over the Diaoyu Island and adjacent islets, which have been an inalienable part of China's territory since ancient times.

TASHKENT, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said Saturday at the end of visits to Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan that China and the three nations have pledged closer cooperation in trade, energy and infrastructure.Yang described the visits as "fruitful," saying he and leaders of the three nations held in-depth discussion about how to step up pragmatic cooperation."Broad consensus has been reached," Yang said in a joint interview with Xinhua, China Central Television and China Radio International."The four countries agreed that it is necessary to look into new ways of cooperation, especially in trade and economy," Yang said.China and the three countries pledged to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in telecommunication, energy, science and technology and infrastructure construction, he said.They also decided to promote cultural, humanitarian and youth exchanges, and deepen mutual understanding, Yang said."The four nations are ready to work together to safeguard world and regional peace, stability and development," Yang said.To that end, the foreign minister said, the countries pledged to enhance consultation and coordination in major international and regional affairs. BEIJING, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Top Chinese legislator Wu Bangguo met here Thursday with President of Malaysian Senate Wong Foon Meng, vowing to enhance parliamentary exchanges.Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), said China and Malaysia were close neighbors, and the bilateral ties had further developed since the two countries forged the strategic and cooperative partnership in 2004.The two countries had strengthened political trust, economic and trade cooperation, personnel exchanges, and coordination in international and regional affairs, he said.Malaysia is a member of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) and forged diplomatic ties with China in 1974."Expanding relations with Malaysia is in the interest of the two peoples and conducive to regional peace and prosperity, and will push forward the cooperation between China and the ASEAN," Wu said.He noted the NPC had maintained sound relations with the Malaysian parliament, but still closer cooperation and exchanges in different forms were needed.Wong Foon Meng voiced his hope to promote exchanges between the parliament members of the two countries.Wang Zhaoguo, vice chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, also met with Wong Foon Meng Thursday afternoon.
