LOS ANGELES (AP) — A fiery crash involving a big rig has injured three people, two critically, and backed up traffic on a Southern California freeway for miles.Authorities say a truck loaded with concrete and gravel hit a car shortly before 3 p.m. Monday on northbound Interstate 405 in the busy Sepulveda Pass area of Los Angeles. The trailer overturned on top of the car, pinning someone underneath and both vehicles burst into flames.Bystanders stopped and managed to pull the trapped person and two others to safety.However, the three reportedly suffered burns, including the truck driver. LOS ANGELES (AP) — The 16-year-old boy who fatally shot two fellow students and wounded three others last week at a Southern California high school used an unregistered, untraceable “ghost gun,” Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said Thursday.Villanueva told media outlets that Nathaniel Berhow’s .45 caliber, 1911-model replica semi-automatic pistol was assembled from gun parts and did not have a serial number.Such weapons are a growing problem for law enforcement around the country because the parts are easy to obtain and the guns take limited expertise to build. Live Nation, the parent company of Ticket Master and the owner of dozens of concert venues across the country, said in a press release Wednesday that it was working with local governments in the hopes that its venues could be used as polling places in the upcoming election.So far, Live Nation says that four of its concert venues — The Wiltern and Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, Emo’s in Austin and the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta — will be used as polling stations this November. A fifth venue, The Fillmore in Philadelphia, "is in the final stages of the vetting process."In addition, the company says it is working with local officials across the country to "determine the feasibility" of using 100-plus Live Nation venues as polling places. He didn’t exactly attempt to hide as the children sat inside.Dressed from head-to-toe as the Grinch, Ethan Hecker, 14, banged on the window of a home and was met with laughter and joy, but little did they know, he was there to steal their Christmas cheer.“My goal is to scare the kiddos, let them have some fun,” Hecker said.Allison Hecker, Ethan’s mom, came across a post online of a girl dressed up as the Grinch scaring kids and moving things around in the yard. Ethan says as soon as he saw it, he knew he wanted to do it himself and begged his mom for the costume.“Ethan loves the theatrics and kids and it was perfect,” she said.Hecker ordered the costume and it arrived on Monday. That same day, they posted on social media.“He is asking per visit--he will spend 5-7 minutes creeping around the outside of your home while your kids scream with excitement (or fear),” the Facebook post read.Hecker says they were flooded with requests for the Grinch to stop at homes and birthdays.“We’ve had 10 (bookings), so far and he has about 50-55 booked,” she said.The money Ethan raises will go into savings and help him buy a car.
