I am pleased to inform you that, for the sake of accuracy in reporting, I am considering posting my interview with Lesley Stahl of 60 Minutes, PRIOR TO AIRTIME! If you’re tuning into the new “Looney Tunes Cartoons” on HBO Max, you may notice a slight edit made to the classic show’s “wabbit” hunter. In the 2020 reboot, producers decided that Elmer Fudd would no longer carry a gun in his endless pursuit of Bugs Bunny. Neither will any other characters for that matter.“We’re not doing guns,” showrunner Peter Browngardt told The New York Times.Browngardt said other forms of “Looney Tunes” violence is still baked into the show, whether that involve sticks of dynamite, intricate booby traps, falling anvils or bank safes.“But we can do cartoony violence — TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in,” Browngardt added. It seems Elmer Fudd may have a new weapon on choice in the show, In a scene titled “Dynamite Dance,” he’s seen chasing Bugs with a scythe before the famous bunny outsmarts him with sticks of dynamite.Producers of the show are wrapping production on the first 1,000 minutes of cartoons, which comes to about 200 cartoons in all, The Times reports. The “Looney Tunes” reboot premiered on HBO Max on May 27, with a total of 30 shorts in 10 episodes. 1128

If you knew the world was about to end, where would you go? I'm guessing, Kansas isn't the answer. But, it probably should be.Down a long dirt road in the middle of Glasco, Kansas there is a bunker that can withstand a nuclear bomb, earthquake, tornado, terrorist attack and even a pandemic. It's called Survival Condo. In the late 1960's it was a missile silo, but as modern technology quickly progressed, the old silo was forgotten about. However, 10 years ago Larry Hall purchased the bunker. He decided to build a luxury survival complex for the wealthy if Armageddon were ever to happen. The bunker sits 201 feet below ground. It takes less than 30 seconds to go from the top floor to the bottom. Each condominium cost three million dollars. The complex is self-sustaining and includes plenty of amenities. It has an indoor pool, dog park, spa, gym, cinema, grocery store, a hospital and a hydroponics room; which allows them to be self-sustaining. Survival Condo is also self-sustaining when it comes to power. They have batteries that last for 15 years, wind turbines, and two generators to keep the entire complex up and running. Larry Hall says, even if the world never comes to an end, residents who own a Survival Condo can still use the underground bunker as a vacation destination. 1322
If you are looking to avoid being quarantined in Hawaii for up to 14 days due to COVID-19, United Airlines and Hawaii Airlines are looking to make it easier on you by offering same-day COVID-19 tests at the airports. On Thursday, United announced that beginning Oct. 15, passengers traveling from San Francisco to Hawaii can either take a rapid test at the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) or a self-collected, mail-in test ahead of their trip.If you opt for the self-collected test, you must submit your sample within 72 hours of travel via overnight mail or an airport dropbox, United said."Our new COVID testing program is another way we are helping customers meet their destinations' entry requirements, safely and conveniently," said Toby Enqvist, Chief Customer Officer at United in the press release. "We'll look to quickly expand customer testing to other destinations and U.S. airports later this year to complement our state-of-the-art cleaning and safety measures that include a mandatory mask policy, antimicrobial and electrostatic spraying and our hospital-grade HEPA air filtration systems."On Friday, Hawaii Airlines announced that passengers traveling to Hawaii from Los Angeles (LAX) or the Bay Area would be able to use drive-through services at Worksite Labs locations near LAX and SFO."As Hawai'i's leading airline, it is critical to ensure that access to testing does not impede travel to Hawai'i, for visitors or our kama‘āina (residents)," said Avi Mannis, senior vice president of marketing at Hawaiian Airlines in a press release. "Our testing option will offer Los Angeles and Bay Area travelers superior value, and we look forward to expanding the program and bringing additional choices to more of our gateway cities as we welcome guests back with our industry-leading Hawaiian hospitality while keeping our community safe. We're grateful to the state of Hawai'i for its partnership in developing the pre-travel testing program."You have the option to pay either for results within 36 hours or 0 for same-day results, the airliner said. The company said the Droplet Digital PCR shallow nasal swab tests do meet Hawaii's testing requirements. 2193
House Speaker Paul Ryan endorsed Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy -- House Republicans' second in command -- to succeed him as speaker, in an interview with NBC."I think we all believe that Kevin is the right person," the Wisconsin Republican said in an interview that aired Friday. "I think Kevin's the right guy to step up."Ryan's support for the California congressman comes just days after Ryan announced he'd retire in January. Already, behind the scenes, the race for Speaker is unfolding. While Majority Whip Steve Scalise, of Louisiana, has said repeatedly he wouldn't challenge McCarthy in a head-to-head race, a leadership source told CNN earlier this week that Scalise's intention was to be ready if McCarthy couldn't garner the votes. 752
