(KGTV) -- A man was hospitalized after police said he was stabbed while attempting to sell his car in Chula Vista.The incident happened at an apartment complex parking lot in the 3000 block of Moss Street at around 10 p.m. Monday, according to Chula Vista police.The victim told police he was trying to sell his 2000 Volvo when a potential buyer attacked him during the transaction and then sped off in his car.Police said the victim was stabbed at least once in his neck, and he was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment. "These feelings bring me to believe that I do not deserve anything, that I do not matter, that I am a constant burden to the world."Wang and the victim's parents urged the judge to impose lifetime sex offender registration due to a variety of factors, including the significant age difference and Bucklew's position of authority in the relationship as a school employee.Wang said Bucklew groomed the victim and maintained his relationship with Jane Doe in a secretive manner, indicating he was aware it was inappropriate. Wang said that upon his arrest, Bucklew directed the girl to delete messages sent between them.Wang said Jane Doe leaned on Bucklew for emotional support amid various issues going on in her life, which Bucklew took advantage of to initiate the physical component of the relationship.Bucklew addressed the court and said he was "extremely apologetic" to Jane Doe and her family.He said he's always tried to make himself available as a friend or coach for people to talk to, as happened with Jane Doe."I see now and I acknowledge my actions were unlawful and where I should have drawn the line, I didn't," Bucklew said. "I'm sincerely sorry."I never intended to put Jane Doe or anyone else in a position where their safety, security or welfare was threatened in any way whatsoever. (KGTV) -- The Sweetwater Union High School District’s reopening plan for the 2020-21 was approved by its board Monday, with the school year set to begin Aug. 3 via distance learning.The district first announced its reopening plan during a meeting on July 23.From Aug. 3-Oct. 2, all classes will be virtual -- based on public health orders issued by the state.To start the year, while distance learning, students will be on a daily block schedule. Students will have three classes a day with 30-45 minutes of face time with their teacher and 45-60 minutes of class spent as independent study.Devices for distance learning will be available for all students. CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) - A pedestrian died and others, including children, were injured Monday in a crash involving a construction truck in Chula Vista. The truck driver lost control about 1:15 p.m. in the 500 block of 4th Ave near Shasta Street, police said. The location is a residential street near Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista. The truck hit parked cars including a black pickup, which then struck a pedestrian before flipping over, said officers.Paramedics took the pedestrian to the hospital with critical injuries. The victim, an 81-year-old, later died, police confirmed. A mother and her two children, a baby and a girl, were in a parked car and suffered minor injuries. Chula Vista police are investigating the cause of the crash. At this time, police say it's unclear whether or not drugs or alcohol were involved. 844

Such a move would likely shutter indoor operations for restaurants, movie theaters, houses of worship and gyms, limit retail businesses to just 25% capacity.
