And you want to be able to talk with your children, not to them. You want them to feel seen and heard and you really want to listen to them," she said.And if you have adult friends not following CDC guidelines?This social worker recommends going into the conversation without any judgment."You don't want the other person to feel defensive. And basically just go in with compassion. I care about you. LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A one-two punch of red tide and algae-filled lake water releases have had a devastating effect on sea life in Southwest Florida.The latest numbers from Lee County officials on Thursday reveal that well over 3 million pounds of fish have been removed from local coastlines.The county reports that contractors removing fish from Lee County beaches have amassed more than 1,400 tons of fish, and that crews in Sanibel have collected an additional 309 tons.Among the dead fish found include one dead Whale Shark on Sanibel, and numerous large goliath grouper and tarpon.Lee County has just received two new Sand Rake machines, purchased for ,000 each,  that are being immediately placed into service.Areas cleaned so far by Lee County and its contractor include 798

The International Olympic Committee’s pursuit of urban events to lure a younger audience saw street dance battles officially added to the medal events program at the 2024 Paris Games. The IOC executive board also confirmed skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing for Paris. Those three sports will make their Olympic debuts at the Tokyo Games which were postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. Ahead of the announcement, International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach praised the additions, describing them during an interview in 2019 as events that will make the Summer Games "more gender balanced, more youthful and more urban."Breaking, the preferred term by those who practice breakdancing, actual made its Olympic debut already. LA MESA, Calif. (KGTV) — This week, police say they arrested a La Mesa businessman, who was the subject of an inappropriate video posted online earlier this year, for violating a restraining order.La Mesa Police said Peter Carzis was arrested Tuesday and charged with violation of a domestic violence restraining order. Officers responded to the 8200 block of Lemon Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. for a report of a possible restraining order violation. Carzis was contacted by officers outside of an apartment complex.As part of an active restraining order, Carzis is ordered to stay 100 yards away from the protected party's address, police said. Officers found Carzis sitting outside of the residence.Last January, Carzis was captured on video allegedly committing a lewd act with a woman on the sidewalk outside his clothing store, Peter's Men's apparel on La Mesa Boulevard. The video was posted on a Facebook community page.When news crews returned to the area to speak with Carzis, he allegedly attacked news reporters and photographers who were attempting to interview him outside his business.Carzis has pleaded not guilty to felony vandalism charges and misdemeanor counts of battery and committing a lewd act in public. 1232
